awesome German pancake. The Dutch Baby was as good as any I've had. I ordered the large and it was as big a a manhole cover. My waitress was extremely friendly. I will go back whenever I'm in Chi-town.

Terrible customer service....I will never go there again!. I ordered apple pancakes over the phone for pickup and I was told 20mins.

I went to pick up my order and was yelled at by the 2 ladies at the desk. They claimed I never placed an order..that I must have called a different place. I insisted that I had called and they both started yelling at me in front of a lobby of people. I left because they were causing a scene and asked to speak to a manager from my cell phone...I tried to explain to him that I didn't call the wrong number...I asked him does he have a cell phone and he rudely said no...well I explained you can look up recent calls and see the number dialed and time and it was his location that I called..he started yelling saying there is no way. Nice manager-he was not trying to fix the situation at all. I honestly did call them-someone forgot to place the order. I will never give them business again. The apple pancakes were the only good thing anyway..the rest of the food is a best okay. Kappy's in Niles sells Apple pancakes that are just as good.

Like stepping back into 1981. OK, maybe I should have ordered the apple pancake. Instead I got "Sally's Fantastic Eggs Benedict" or something like that... what a disappointment. The hollandaise sauce was more of a yellow gravy and the eggs were cooked through. The portion of hash browns that came with it was HUGE, but otherwise unremarkable. The service was quite good - they took our order quickly and kept our coffee full. The atmosphere was... strange. Like I said earlier, I felt as if I had stepped back into 1981... that transitional time between the 1970s disco era and the mid-80s "me generation" greed fest. Everything just seemed dated, but not so dated to be kitschy or nostalgic. Next time I'm in the area, I think I'll try Le Peep in Park Ridge.

Best breakfast, very good dinner, family atmosphere. The apple pancake is the best, I like mine with splenda (not as sweet, but sweet enough). It tastes excellentttt, German pankcake, and French pancakes are out of this world--I had it all.

The service is wonderful. The waitresses/waiters and hostesses are very kind and knowledgable. I love going there with my husband and three kids. The atmosphere is very family like and welcoming. The food is AMAZING and the portions are large. You get a lot for what you pay. If you live in the Chicago area, or are planning to visit the area, you should definately visit Sally's, I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Dutch Baby to die for!. The apple pancake is amazing but a little too sweet for me. I LOVE the dutch baby - plain large pancake baked til it's crisp - add a little lemon and powdered sugar. The omelettes are also baked so they're not runny. Everything is good here. And every portion is LARGE.

Modern diner near Norridge specializes in hearty breakfasts, including an apple pancake.. In Short
This modern diner is large and bright, with servers ready with coffee refills. The star here is Sally's Original Golden Crisp Apple Pancake; more like apple pie, it's laden with sliced apples in a cakey dough with plenty of butter and cinnamon. It's a 20- to 30-minute wait and the large version could feed four. Other options: omelettes, pancakes and crepes. Lunch and dinner offer traditional diner fare--roast turkey, burgers, salads and sandwiches.

Apple Pancake insanity. Here's my suggestion, either get the apple pancake and nothing else, or get a normal breakfast and plan to take the mammoth home. Either way, the apple pancake is a must. It's more like a pie. It's very large, with a crunchy sweet "crust" and the sliced apples inside. Add a little powdered sugar and you are good to go. (My high food mark goes to this pancake) I had the Denver omelet and it was also pretty good. Also try the buttermilk pancakes rather than toast with your breakfast--it's worth it. The atmosphere is like a busy diner and plan on a wait on Sundays.

Best Breakfast. Sally's is a great breakfast bargain. The ambience is not glitsy but the food is great and comes in abundant quantity to satisfy even the hungriest big-man apetite. The selection is also extensive. My kids like to order a chocolate milkshake with their breakfast and that's fine with them too. The waitresses are very accomodating, extremely polite, and willing to accomodate in any way they can. The only drawback is the lines for weekend breakfast seating.

On Sunday, God created Sally's. Sally's on Sunday... Cream of Chicken soup, pancakes and a large glass of Grapefruit Joice. Ohh Boy...
