Local favorite serves up stuffed and thin-crust pizzas as well as a variety of Italian favorites..
In Short
Red-and-white tablecloths, family-sized tables and friendly staff contribute to the convivial atmosphere for those dining in, but this popular local restaurant chain is a favorite for takeout, too. Thin-crust pizzas are cut in squares, heavy on mozzarella, easy on sauce. Stuffed pies are flaky-crusted with ingredients that include fresh pineapple, shrimp and classic pepperoni, onion, green pepper and the like. Other popular plates include sandwiches (Italian beef, sausage, meatball), salads and a plethora of pasta dishes.
Worst Service in Chicago. I love Giordano's pizza, but this particular restaurant is absolutely dreadful. Front counter staff are the rudest employees I have ever encountered and the wait staff is not much better. Because I like the pizza so much I have been there 5 or 6 times and ordered takeout several more times, but the constant horrible service has driven me away for good (and I live 2 blocks away). Terrible management and terrible service (still good pizza though).
Good Pie. Consistently great pizza. The staff has always been very attentive and the pie is always good. You can?t go wrong with any of the Giordano?s.
Best Pizza I've had so Far. I'm from Los Angeles and during a recent trip to Chicago I stopped by this place for pizza. Being from California where the Pizza is mostly greasy and and bad crust I'd have to say this was the best pizza I've had so far!! Maybe someone from Chicago has had better but for me this pizza was delicious! It came made just right! I wish we had pizza like this in Los Angeles!
No Longer Something Special.. This restaurant used to be one of my top choices for taking out-of-town guests for a sample of a thick and juicy Chicago style pizza. During my last three or four visits, they're service has been poor, and the food has been terrible. I have consistently received almost no attention to my table, despite there not being many people in the restaurant. Also, the pizza has arrived cold, with the cheese only half melted consistently within the last few visits. This place doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating, anymore. Definitely go somewhere else.
It's all in the sauce. Casual, kid-friendly, old-fashioned pizza parlor atmosphere where deep-dish pizza is supreme. Salads are a nice size and they're surprisingly made with romaine lettuce rather than the typical iceberg. Skip the way-too-sweet ranch dressing and go for the Caesar.
