Worst experience ever!!. This is the most horrible place I've ever been to!!! So My boyfriend and I went into to Cesar's to have a nice diner after the Cub's game today (I live a block away on Halsted and Briar). We sat down at the bar, ordered our drinks and our food. My boyfriend, noticing his phone was almost dead, asked the bartender if he could charge his phone. The bartender told him to ask the manager in the front of the restaurant. He left to go ask the manager and disappeared for a few minutes. He came back noticably upset saying that they refused. Maybe a minute later an older man comes up, takes our drinks and tells us to "Get out! We don't want your kind here!"! Can you belive that?! What does "your kind" mean?! Paying customers you mean?! This place will probably fail it's next sanitation test!

Do not eat here. This place has the worst customer service that I have ever encountered.

The food at best is average and extremely expensive.

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE... if you do not believe me read some of the other comments post it by past customers. There are so many choices in the Lakeview area that this should not be on anyone’s list.

The owner is rude, inattentive and unappreciative it. I believe that he has a Napoleon complex and I am sure that plays allot into the way he believes he should treat customers. He is under the impression that he can dictate how you should pay in the restaurant and if you do not like it then too bad. I am in the Hospitality business and the last time I checked "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT" THEY TRULY BELIEVE THAT THEY DO NOT NEED YOUR BUSINESS BECAUSE THE WAY THAT THEY TREAT CUSTOMERS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

All I want to do was have an open tab in the bar while I was having dinner with friends and family, but instead the owner told me that if I kept that tab open he would charge the entire dinner on my card. There were at least 20 of us and I did not feel like taking on such a high bill. I asked him what the problem was if I kept it open and he told me that he did not want to mix the bar with the restaurant...?????. Any way you look it he is still getting my money but he told me that if I did not obliged I needed to leave.

PLEASE READ SOME OF THE CUSTOMER REVIEWS AND HELP ME CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN. I AM TIRED FO POOR SERVICE AND PLACES LIKE THESE NEED TO BE EXPOSED AND RAN OUT OF BUSINESS.

Rude people, bad service, awful food.... It's been my 6th time there... since they are right around the corner, every other year I'd give it a try thinking "maybe they are not so bad... it was just that night..."..

Although the Margaritas are OK ( by OK I mean OK,.. not good by any means) .. the food is awful, by far the worse Mexican food I've ever tasted...when you think that nothing can go wrong with chips and salsa, there is a place where that will prove you wrong.. they have the most oily, unsalted, bad tasted chips I've ever seen.

And above all that.. The service is unbelievably bad, Mean and Rude people working all over the place, if you have any problem... please.. take my advice and never call the manager... you will definitely get a rudder person. and after reading other reviews.. really, what's with the moving table thing...I thought that was with me but as I see it's like part of their service...Unbelievable Best advice I can give is to Avoid the place, just do a research and read other reviews..

Cesars Chicago = CAN I GIVE ZERO STARS???? REST OF THE RANT.... (((THIS IS THE REST OF WHAT WE ENDURED AND DISAPPOINTINGLY WENT ALONG WITH)))

THEN, our original waiter comes up to us and apologizes for moving us... UH HUH... UH--WHAT?!? You want us to move AGAIN to the other side of the restaurant at the other bar?? and you'll give us another drink on the house? OH NO. We are not moving. He tells us that he hasn't put in our next round of drinks with the bar, yet. We tell him we're not moving. Our drinks come. Then, our waitress returns with our check telling us thank you and whenever we're ready to pay would be great. And they charge us for those final round of drinks. UMM.. I don't know why we even ended up staying there... I don't know why we even PAID our bill. I don't know why we TIPPED our waiters--- I know it's not their faults, but their tips should have reflected the total service that was provided all night... We paid cash with a small overage on a credit card-- and of course, the waitress returns to tell us we cannot use our credit card unless the charge is over $10. We should have just walked out. If you want margaritas that do NOT taste like they have used the Patron that's promised, go only for the drinks, sit only at the bar. If you want awesome margaritas with awesome food and pleasant service, try CAMPECHE on Lincoln and Jersey on the north side of the city. by the way, spaghetti o's soup that's watered down served with a wedge of lime was free at Cesar's."

Terrible food and service. When I dined at this restaurant with a friend, the service proved to be as abysmal as the food. My vegetarian burrito was incredibly plain and boring (how do you mess up beans and vegetables?), and my friend's wrap was unappetizing. When she complained to our server, he curtly replied, "Well, no one has ever complained about it before," as if that should make everything all right. The margaritas were good, but easily the worst Mexican I've had in the city.

avoid it like the plague. This place is the pits. The food is horrible and the management is equally as bad. I would say easily the worst mexican food I've ever eaten.

TERRIBLE PLACE. Terrible service I have ever seen. I have been waiting for 40 min. for the table - and was told to get out the place after all this. We were 2 and I asked for table for 3 , my friend wanted to join us. After 40 min, (I so the other people been seated right away) I?ve been told that I have to wait for the 3rd person to come in case to bee seated. than I tried to tell that I just want to start eating at this time and not sure , that this person will join us, the guy upfront told me that I will never will get table in this place and have to leave.

good only for the frozen margaritas. The frozen margaritas here are the best in the neighborhood, hands down. This is their bread and butter, and they are clearly aware of it. The service at the Clark location is famously bad. On a busy night, they will rush you (sometimes with less than what would qualify as tact), but if you are a pleasant group (i.e., you can handle your liquor) they will sometimes offer free shots or drinks at the bar for your inconvenience in relinquishing your table perhaps earlier than you intended. While thoughtful, it definitely betrays their desire to crank through the customers vs. offer a pleasant experience. They do this because they can...the Clark location is prime.

The service issues don't seem so bad at the other location on Broadway, which is oddly just a 10 minute walk away. Given the choice it's the one I would recommend.

The food is barely adequate. It's generally kind of bland, and outside of the burritos the portions are mediocre relative to other Mexican retaurants. The burritos are not as good as even those you'd get at a fast food joint like Taco Burrito King. Again, just bland.

If Cesar's was simply a margarita bar, it would be phenomenal, as I feel many of its problems (including inconsistent staff attitude) result from them trying to shoe-horn a restaurant experience into a place people only really frequent for the margaritas. They need to be honest with themselves about this. As a restaurant, I cannot recommend it. Sad, as the frozen margaritas truly are amazing.

Don?t waste your time and money! POOR SERVICE!. After ordering (1) margarita in the dinning room during dinner, my party was told that they needed our table and refused to serve us anymore drinks. However, the hostess did offer (4) coupons for free ?house? drinks in the basement. After the main course, we were promptly given our bill without offering any dessert menu. The service & food were POOR. There are so many other Mexican/margarita restaurants in Chicago, take your business and money elsewhere!

Terrible doesn't even begin to explain the service.... We went with a group of 5 last night for a quick bite after a few drinks across the street. As soon as we got there the waitress threw the chips down with an attitude - one that continued throughout the night. When we asked for more chips a few minutes later (5 hungry people what do you expect) she totally gave more attitude. When my meal was brought I told the waitress I ordered my enchiladas with just regular red sauce - not green sauce. She insisted I was wrong but after looking at the check realized the error was hers. They were closing like an hour after we got there so we were definitely rushed. In addition, two of the people we were with ordered the huge margaritas and when they tried to order their second ones were told they could only have the small ones because they were closing. What that had to do with it I don't know. After we finished our meal, we were outside the restaurant saying our goodbyes as we were all off to our respective homes. Some employee inside was like mouthing stuff to us very angrily and our waitress flipped me the bird. No reason what so ever. I had even given a 20% tip - God knows why?! I have never in my life experienced such attitudes...at a Mexican restaurant nonetheless! I'm not sure who these people think they are, but I will never in my life give them so much as a glance. Who cares about the food - the staff was unacceptable. I wonder if they realize all they do is sell cheap, nasty Mexican food for a living?
