If you're looking for Classic Italian food, it's not all that easy to find in Chicago. Mia's been doing it forever, and they're still doing it right. $5 martinis on Thursdays!

Hands down 1 of my fave restaurants. Casual yet refined w an everchanging menu of delicioso dishes. Coach house is best seat in the house.
This always-packed Italian spot serves up satisfying fare to a merry, mixed crowd..
In Short
The atmosphere at this Wrigleyville fave is frenetic and loud with chatter, laughter, clinking glasses and cheers. The contemporary Italian menu offers tasty plates like sirloin carpaccio and asparagus risotto, plus four-cheese or seafood pizzas, pastas, and entrees like veal medallions with porcini mushrooms and roasted chicken with rosemary, lemon and caramelized shallots. For dessert, the gelati (Italian ice creams)--pistachio, cinnamon, raspberry, banana-fudge and vanilla--is a crowd favorite.
Disappointing. This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend and encouraged by it's great review in the Zagat guide. I couldn't wait to try it, however after my experience, I have no idea what it is that people like about this restaurant. The decor is nice, but the acoustics are awful. It was so loud inside that I had to struggle to hear my date and the waiter couldn't hear us when he was four feet away. I was willing to forgive these flaws if the food was worth it, but again I was disappointed with a bland entree. I am from NYC where Little Italy hardly ever failed to disappoint me. If this is considered one of Chicago's best restaurants or best Italian restaurants, I'm not sure that there is much to look forward to.
WONDERFUL!!. This place is fantastic! We came for my husbands birthday and had a great time! the food was excellent and the prices were VERY reasonable for Chicago! We ordered 2 drinks a piece, an appetizer, dinner and dessert and spent only $20 more (including tip) then we did for lunch at some tourist spot!! Our waitress was great and we rather liked the high intesity and hustle that was going on around us. It was well worth doing a little reasearch before we went out. I highly recomend Mia Francesca to anyone looking for a great meal for a great price! Can't wait untill the next time we are in Chicago so we can eat here again!
not great, not bad. I think all theraving about this place has to be strictly on atmosphere. The appetizers were bought packaged I gaurantee and not nade there. We had peperoncinin stuffed with cheese. Definitely pulled from a purchased container and put on our plate to serve. Food was just average.....you get what you pay for here. It's not expensive and the food is NOT great. It's just okay. The outdoor bar in back though is really nice and I might go there again next time I am in te mood to eat avergage Italian outdoors. WAiting here for more than a half hour to get a table is unjustified.........
The bomb. This here is a winner! With lots of Italian restaurants to choose from, competition is high! This place delivers on all levels...food, ambiance, service, and value!
Splendid.
This is the ultimate place to bring a date. The front might be a little crowded, so I suggest going back to the coach house.
The food and dessert is just awesome... I'm not sure how else to describe it. The service was fast & attentive as well. Enough said.

P.S. In my opinion, it was worth the wait.
my favorite.
my favorite restaurant in chicago
and now even after having kids, i can still enjoy it
because it's so bustling - that no one notices my little noise makers!
great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The best seating is upstairs near clark street windows. a good menu and plenty of specials.
Excellent! Fave Italian!. You won't get spagehetti and meatballs as my dad complained when I brought him, but what you will get are some of the best pasta, fish, and chicken dishes you have tried. Portions are more than generous and the service is mostly good and friendly. The carpaccio is the best I have ever had anywhere and the calamari are tender. If you like noisy, go to Clark Street. If you mind the din, go to Tayor street where they take reservations.
