In Short – Bright colors welcome customers to this casual joint, where painted wall portraits range from Elvis and Johnny Cash to Sammy Sosa. In the summer, a pleasant sidewalk patio beckons. The extensive menu includes burgers, barbecue, lip-stinging chicken wings and a range of appetizers, soups, salads, pizza and desserts. Weekend brunch features items like the crab Benny--eggs Benedict with crab cakes subbing for the Canadian bacon.
Must have been a good-service fluke

I was really surprised to see the low-star ratings citing horrible service for Harmony Grill. Granted, I have only been there once, but neither my boyfriend nor I had any complaints. And being that we are heavily tattooed and/or pierced, we are used to getting mediocre service in some of the pricier joints in Chicago (too bad, too, bc we tip awesome).... Anyways, I had the sweet potato ravioli with pecans and he had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Very different tastes accomplished on both (mine a bit more playful/unique, his more traditional), and they were both AWESOME. Our server was friendly, informative, and attentive! I am looking forward to going back! Keeping my fingers crossed we don't experience the awful service so many others have complained about... I'd hate to have to black mark this establishment!
Best Brunch in Chicago

Since brunch is my favorite meal, period, standards were high. And first came the beignets with raspberry sauce; perfect way to spark the appetite! At the behest of my friends, I ordered a Bloody Mary which was just the right blend of spice and tomato, and again a spot on segue to my Mario Omelet! Chorizo crumbled into a fold of egg and avocado, not runny, not dry - JUST RIGHT. I felt like Goldilocks and I have been eating porridge in all the wrong bowls. Since my omelet was paired so perfectly with flaky, crisp hash browns, I decided to be more adventurous and stole a bite of a friend's Migas: eggs, avocado, and cheese over a stack of corn tortillas. Move over huevos rancheros - forever! (at least until Harmony makes their version!) When we waited for our food, every dish that passed us on its way to other tables looked so good that we all suffered from entree envy - things like English Muffin French Toast and Eggs Benedict. We wanted to try everything on the menu. That proved not to be a problem, however, since all four of us cleared our plates. As we walked out, I noticed that all the sidewalk eaters had cleared theirs as well. I felt much less guilty. My new favorite brunch spot - maybe favorite restaurant : HARMONY GRILL!
Horrible Service

My girlfriend and I decided to drop by for a quick bit before a concert at Schuba's tavern. After standing at the door for a few minutes we decided to seat ourselves at the nearest table in the nearly empty restaurant, after another 5 minutes we literally got up and grabbed a waiter. The apologetic waiter took our drink order but before he returned the manager came over. We assumed he was going to apologize but instead proceeded to reprimand us, saying that if we ever entered by cutting through the kitchen again that we would be permanently barred from the restaurant. We politely explained that we had entered through the front door and had waited before taking a seat. He then left without apologizing and we proceeded leave the establishment.
I do not mean this to be a poor reflection on the excellent Schuba's tavern, but we will never set foot in Harmony Grill again.
