Yen's small, charming space has simple decor of hardwood floors and sloping stucco ceilings, with low lighting and tasteful decorations. The expansive menu includes traditional favorites like dumplings and egg rolls, countless varieties of beef, pork, chicken and seafood dishes, along with plenty of vegetarian options and noodle plates. Steamed dumplings are a good starter; recommended entrees include Szechuan beef, a generous entree of thinly sliced meat with shredded veggies in a mild, flavorful sauce.

I must say i really appreciate Yen's. It's not inventive, pioneering cuisine by any means. But it is chinese food done exceedingly well. The flavors are balanced, and the kitchen obviously takes great pride in what they do. Today there is so, so much bad chinese food out there, that it is truly refreshing to find a place like Yen's which does what it does great! This is an excellent restaurant for basic chinese food- it is WAY BETTER THAN CHEN'S on clark street.

Very good chinese food. The waiter was very friendly and they totally were willing to work with me when I wanted to change some things about my order! The prices are great as well. My boyfriend and I usually pay around $20 for both of us. In this area that is a bargain

Highly recommend this joint. Good portions, though is definitely a little pricey. General's chicken is great, and is enough for dinner for two. Takes a while to get delivery service during busy times.
