hard to beat. We've eaten at a couple dozen Thai restaurants in Chicago, and still keep coming back to PS Bangkok as the best. Particularly tasty are: steamed dumplings (with rice flour wrapping--so good that the set of 4 will seem too few for 2 people); the fish cakes (Tod Mun); the Nam Sod (with pork--served room temp. and spicy); the Pad Thai with chicken; the Panang curry with beef; the "pungent" dish with pork (ginger, black mushrooms & scallions); and the sticky rice with mango for dessert. Prices aren't the lowest in town, but they ain't the highest either. Dinner for 2 with 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes, 1 shared dessert and 2 drinks will come to around $40 (plus tax and tip). Decor is attractive traditional Thai, and the owner is super friendly.

0 fo 2 on P.S. Bangkok. I've gone to this restaurant for maybe 10 yerars now and always enjoyed the food and service. But a lot has changed, and I won't return. The mismanagement of the place is just incredible. A couple of months ago, we ordered for delivery, and despite three calls to the restaurant, it took over an hour an a half to deliver ( on a weeknight, no special day or event going on) The food arived stone-cold, and we received no reduction in the bill or apology.

This week, we arrived about 7:30 for dinner, with only two other tables occupied. The single server was completely inept, literally running from the kitchen to the front of the dining room with everything she kept forgetting. Just as we were served dinner, a couple arrived with a 4 or 5 year old, wildly screamng as they walked in, The server seated them immediately next to us, as the child continued to scream at the top of his lungs. (there were lots of empty tables in the bacck of the restaurant). We asked to be moved, nothing happened, so we got up and sat ourselves at a table in the back. We asked the server to bring our plates back to us, but she didn't bring silver, water or our drinks. We asked repeatedly, and finally just asked for the check. The owner finally came over, and told us "it was too bad that we didn't like children". No apolgy, nothing. We will NEVER return.

Nice atmosphere, So-so food. The space is large and the tables are well-spaced. It wasn't crowded late on a Friday night and the service was decent. It would have been a great place to take a larger group if you didn't want to have to scream to be heard. On the other hand, the food was underwhelming. The offerings, while numerous and reasonably priced, were all quite safe. The curry was decent but not amazing; it had been simmering a little too long such that the sauce had just one flavor rather than the intricate counterpoint I expect from a good Thai curry. Here's my real grievance: I ordered straw mushrooms in a red curry, and they tried to pass off quartered button mushrooms as straw mushrooms. This is positively unacceptable and thanks only to my easily-embarrased friend the manager was spared a verbal reaming. If you're in Wrigleyville and have a large party and/or a vague hankering for Thai, give it a shot. If you're looking for really good Thai food, go to one of any number of restaurants in Little Saigon.

Wonderful find!. Truly authentic and delicious food served in a quiet atmosphere. The perfect place to try a new dish, or to sample old favorites. On a recent vist the Egg Salad- (crispy fried egg over fresh tomato and cucumber in a tangy sweet and sour dressing) was a perfect first course. The Pad See Ew was generously portioned and surprisingly light, and the sticky rice steamed in banana leaf was a fragrant delight. Choose this restaurant over other more trendy and crowded spots for a refreshing and reasonably priced dining experience.
