The love of Little Village found in the heart of Lakeview. This is a great Mexican restaurant to come eat, hang out and drink up. The food is wonderful, but really come here for the atmosphere. Expect to have a good time.
Really enjoyed the guacamole! Very attentive servers and a large, great space with a lively atmosphere.
Credit Card Fraud!.
Credit Card Fraud! Beware. I dined in in this restaurant and had a reasonable dining experience. However, I noticed later that my credit card hd been billed for a second, unauthorized charge in a large even dollar amount. I have contacted the restaurant both on the phone and in person, and am always told I have to speak to a manager. However, there is never a manager on duty (even at prime dining time on a Saturday evening!) and I have never received a phone call back, despite leaving my contact information repeatedly.
Since this happened, I've looked at the reviews on Yelp!, and wish now I had done this before I went to dine there. Apparently others have had the exact same experience. Clearly there are dishonest people working at this restaurant, and I would think twice about ever stepping foot inside.
I am disputing the fraudulent charge with my credit card company, and hope to get resolution that way, because it is clearly not going to come from the management of Mi Tierra.
F-
Over Charge You....... The jerks tipped themselves on my credit card once I left. I like to tip 20% in cash and they decided to forge my tip amount after I signed the bill. I will never go back!
This place is good business!. I go about once a month. It's a fun atmosphere, has fairly priced margaritas, and great food. Muy Bueno!
Great service and Burrito.. love everything about this place, thought I was in mexico the whole time, reasonable prices as well, floutas worth ordering too.
Vibrant, festive atmosphere draws a casual Lakeview crowd to this budget Mexican spot..
The Scene
With its magenta walls, orange stucco ceilings, and colorful mosaic tile tables, this place is a bright, festive oasis. An ivy-covered fountain gurgles, and the two long dining rooms are filled with knickknacks and tiled with cool terra-cotta floors. Service can be on the slow side, especially when it's packed, so if you're hoping to catch a show at the nearby Theatre Building, give yourself plenty of time.
The Food
The standard Mexican fare is plentiful and cheap. Filling combos of quesadillas, enchiladas and tacos with beans and fluffy Spanish rice are all less than $10. Dozens of entree choices include chicken, steak and seafood plates--try the shrimp served with spicy sauce on white rice, or go for a two-fisted ground beef burrito. Dessert offerings include deep-fried ice cream and a fine flan.
Colorful and energetic place on Belmont. I love this restaurant. It gets packed on weekend nights, and because it's near Wrigley, it's always filled after games, but the service is friendly and as swift as possible. (Sometimes there will be a delay depending on the crowd.) The food is really quite good, too, especially if you adventure past the typical burritos. The garlicky shrimp is some of the best I've had, and the carne asada is tender and full of flavor.
Excellent!.
Mi Tierra has an excellent menu with a variety of dishes to choose from. I have not found a bad one yet. Although, the only dish they offer with pork is their tamales. I love the chicken enchiladas. They also have many margarita flavors to choose from, one of the longest lists I have ever seen.
The friendly atmosphere has a lot to offer with its helpful service and colorful, authentic decor. I would definitely recommend Mi Tierra for the family, a date, or even just mexican food. You won't find a better mexican dining experience for this price in Chicago. Don't forget to get the fried ice cream for dessert! It is delicious and enough for two.
Home Cooking. Mi Tierra is a classic the time its been their speaks for itself the food is authentic and taste just like Grandma use to make I recommend the Queso Panela with home made flour tortillas for an appetizer, and this place is not over priced like so many Mexican places you find in Chicago today, So if your looking for a place to take the family or just looking for good food at great price this is the spot.
not bad at all. This spot is good for a few drinks and munching on chips. I had the tacos and wasn't disappointed, although they were nothing out of the ordinary.
