“You have to order premium margaritas otherwise the bar puts in reject tequilla.”
“Maybe by the time customers get their food, they are too wasted to know what really great Mexican food tastes like.”
“The best place to visit before a Cubs game!”
“The margaritas are potent and the service is always fast.”
“The prices were reasonable.”
Awesome food!. I don't know who some of these other reviewers are, but I have lived around the corner from the restraurant for years and have always found the food to be authentic and fantastic. The margaritas are potent and the service is always fast.
Quite Possibly the worst meal I have ever had!. The food was absolutely terrible. I got the Jardin combination and the meat was disgusting, if you can even call it meat. After taking 3 bites I wanted to immediately purge in their bathroom, but figured they would probably scoop it up and serve it to the next customer. Do not go there for any reason other than drinking.
Best Guacomole. There are two- a restraunt and a cafe about half a block away from eachother. I'd recommend the cafe for before a cubs game, but the restraunt for a saturday night. A little expensive, but worth it. Great Margaritas....and the guacmole is the best in chicago.
Good Place For Real Mexican Food Lovers. I had the pleasure of dining here June 11th for a friends B-Day. We sat outside on the patio and dined. The food and drinks were great. The prices were reasonable. If you get a chance check them out. It's worth it. The only con was the waitress questioned her tip % which was only 30 cent less then what the gratuity was but otherwise. I'll give it four stars****;JYS
Known for its killer margaritas, this casual spot also dishes up some mean Mexican meals..
In Short
The cozy offspring of the larger El Jardin down the block, this popular stop has a wall of windows facing Clark Street. During summer, open windows bring breezes and street sounds to casual margarita-sipping revelers. The menu offers tacos and burritos, plus unique lechon--juicy, slow-roasted pork, available sliced as an entree or as a filling. The Super burrito is aptly named: beans, meat or sauteed vegetables with cheese, tomato and avocado in a 14-inch tortilla.
El Jardin. This restaurant provides a comfortable, and fun environment. The food is amazing, authentic mexican along with excellent margaritas and service. The best place to visit before a Cubs game!
Yuck!!!!!. I've been to El Jardin twice, & in both instances the food was gross! Service was pretty fast, but I had a hard time holding the food down. I've tried their enchiladas & chicken tacos (gross!). I don't know who El Jardin had to pay to get #1 on this list...cause the food is terrible. Avoid at all costs when taking a trip to Wrigleyville!!!!
UGGH!. How this place could possibly pass as a winner is beyond me. I've tried it 3 different times/ different seasons and each time the food is uneatable. Truly disgusting and gross. Chicken doesn't even look like chicken! And the myster meat that goes in the burritos is scary. You have to order premium margaritas otherwise the bar puts in reject tequilla. This place is a definate PASS
NO THANKS!!!.
The only thing this place has going for it, is the location. I have heard the margaritas are really strong. Maybe by the time customers get their food, they are too wasted to know what really great Mexican food tastes like.
Yuck!!!!
