Editorial Review for Pat's Pizzeria & Ristorante – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
For appetizers, garlic bread is light on garlic and covered with melted cheese. Northern Italian-style pasta dishes are served in huge portions. Pat's Special pizza (sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions) is mix of flavors; the crispy, paper-thin crust is suitable for single toppings, too.

We come here all the time with our son (now 19 months). The staff is fast, polite, and low-key. They are very kid-friendly (highchairs, crayons and paper, covered water cups with straws), and there is rarely a wait (especially if you go early, like 5:30pm). Pizza is delicious and the restaurant isn't too noisy.

I ordered a thin crust two-topping pizza for delivery. The pizza was delivered promptly, in just over 30 minutes. Unfortunately, although the pizza was still hot and looked good, it really didn’t taste very good. The sauce was very bland. There was also so much sauce that it made the thin crust moist. The toppings were very good and the cheese was average. Overall the pizza was bland (maybe due to lack of seasoning) and flimsy. I have lived a four large cities and this was not a good thin crust pizza. I’m fairly certain it was not the best in Chicago. I hate to say this, but Domino’s thin crust is better. Good service + lots of bland sauce + little seasoning = average pizza. Maybe the restaurant experience makes the pizza seem better, but don't place your order expecting top notch thin crust pizza.
