Editorial Review for Cody's Public House – by Jennifer Olvera
The Scene
Dart-wielding revelers get their game on at this former grain and feed shop. The sparse decor is mostly limited to play posters, a deer head and straightforward seating befitting convivial corner taps. Neighbors of varying ages and tax brackets drop in for drafts while Ella Fitzgerald wafts through the hallowed halls. Come summer, a comfortable, enclosed beer garden peppered with trees and shrubs--as well as a bocce ball court--provides an outdoor alternative.
The Draw
Strong drinks for a fair price; 12 high-end drafts, including Sierra Nevada and New Castle, cater to beer connoisseurs, while low-cost Schlitz, PBR and Old Style get swing votes among the frugal. Thirty-plus bottles round out the selection, and a balanced bar is equipped to crank out your favorite libation--as long as it's not frilly--with ease. TVs offer sports-related viewing for those who must get their athletic fix.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoAlthough the bar doesn't serve food, plenty of delivery menus are on hand for your dining pleasure.
The ExtrasAs long as your dog is leashed and can behave--whether Great Dane or Chihuahua--you can bring it along.

Cody's is a fantastic place to sit around for hours, especially if you enjoy darts and bottles of PBR & Schlitz. If you like, you can bring your dog. Don't come expecting to dance or hook up with a cute stranger, though - Cody's isn't that type of place. The case of "Cheers" would like it; the case of "The OC," not so much.
Pros: Cheap beer, Low-key
