A weekday bar, Justin's has trivia nights and a good selection of bar food.
Guilty Pleasure... I started going to Justins because I live near by, but kept coming back because of the food. Best bar food, seriously, if you want a really good burger this is the place to go. I think the only thing I have had that wasn't good there is their quesadillas. Also they have semi cheap beer buckets and trivia on tuesdays.
nice beer garden in summer, rude people. It's a nice place to sit outside in the summer. On more than one occasion though when going at night the bartender was wasted, rude and picking fights. He was an awful to me and my girlfriend for no reason. Later in the night he picked a fight with a guy sitting a few seats down. Ridiculous. Food is just ok, tater tots are a highlight. The other people behind the bar refuse to do anything about it and are not much better than him. Avoid this place, too many other great bars in the immediate vicinity to waste your time with people who are going to be rude.
Good beer garden, great good, but.... This is my first review as I usually do not write these, but I have been to Justin's a few times and live in the neighborhood. I really like the bar, beer garden, and I have always had great food, but the one thing I do not like is the lack of weekly drink specials. I understand no specials on the weekends, but I like to go places during the week that have some sort of drink deal. I am a student and tend to frequent places that have at least a decent special and it seems that everytime I have been there, they do not offer anything but the obscure beer of the month. When it comes down to it, if I want to go out on a Monday, I usually try to go somewhere that is not going to cost me my very small paycheck. Especially since there are a ton of bars in the same area that offer great deals during the week.
Best chicken wrap in Chicago. As you drive up and down Southport your choices for a burger, fries, or sandowch are endless. As a repeat visitor, I can say that Justin's consistently provides firendly service, awesome food, and a relaxed atmosphere. My favorite menu item is the blackened chicken wrap (also available with steak) that comes filled with guacamole, chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, and mexican cheese. I know what you are thinking, "How can you mess up a wrap?" Give it a try and you will undestand why I measure every other wrap I eat against this one! Justin's also has a great burger and tator tots.
solid. regulars chill & ex-regulars have a sense of "i wish this were in my new 'hood" when at justin's. good table service. food is filling. occasionally good beer selections (i.e. redhook on draft). trail maps on walls too.
Lakeview haunt for fans of sports and summertime beer gardens..
The Scene
This big corner joint's two large rooms are split by a massive bar; TVs broadcast loads of satellite-beamed sports. Vintage athletic memorabilia and buffalo heads add character, as do curiosities such as a reproduction of the Irish Republic Declaration, wall-mounted jukeboxes and an antique condom dispenser. Out back, a spacious beer garden outfitted with stools and tables features its own full bar and is illuminated by old-fashioned streetlights.
The Draw
In the warmer months, Justin's claim-to-fame beer garden reopens, and it becomes a popular--but thankfully not jammed--post-Cubs game hangout. Young professionals from near and far (including more females than at similar bars) mix it up. In any season, the food menu is more adventurous than typical bar grub rosters, and a formidable 15 beers on tap (including Stella, Hoegaarden and Nitro) are worth getting to know.
Justin's after a Cub's Game. Justin's is a great place to go after a weekday Cub game. It is just far enough away from Wrigley(about 1/2 mile), that it is not packed full of fans. Justin's Has a great Beer Garden with plenty of seating and a service bar out there too. If you go on a weekday around Happy Hour, they have a great FREE hors d' ouvres Buffet set up inside. They have a great selection of beers on tap, and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend Justin's after a Cub game, especially if the weather is nice enough to sit in the Beer Garden.
"You have to go there... ". "Have a round of smiles on me.... " the best staff and customers conspire to make Justin's the best bar/restaurant/sports bar in Chicago!
The BEST Bar in Chicago. Justin's is one of the most incredibly fun places to be in Chicago. Minutes away from Wrigley Field, you can find the best bar in Chicago. A great party atmosphere and wonderful selection of alcohol makes this bar definately the place to be.
