Absolutely delightful store with good deas.. My teenage daughter and her boyfriend and I spsent two hours in this delightful store! We got there a little early (sign said they opened at 11 and we got there at 10:15) so we went two blocks down to this awesome restaurant and had brunch - NOOKIES TREE - do not miss this restaurant either.

Beatnix opened right on time and the store clerk was absolutely delightful! She was helpful, kind and interactive. Do NOT miss this place. They had fun different accessories to play with and try on, and they had retro and vintage clothing as well. Don't miss the basement area! Prices were extremely reasonable. I can't believe how many people travel to Chicago and never get to this awesome place. It is a DO NOT MISS!

Store does not keep to it's posted hours.. Web site states that the store hours are Mon - Thurs are 12pm - 10PM. I made a special trip specifically to THIS store. 1 hour driving time and 20 minutes just to find a parking spot. I arrived at 8:05pm THURSDAY March 26th. After I walked in the door and confirmed it was Beatnix I was told that they were closing in five minutes. Surprised I mentioned that their web site says 10pm. I was told simply "NO." by the female sales clerk and offered no more help than that. Well after a wasted trip, gas money, meter money and my time, I certainly didn't want to keep them to their POSTED HOURS.

Wild, colorful collection of retro wear is straight out of the '70s.. The Scene
Feathery angel wings float near spinning disco balls: You know you're in retro heaven. There's no shortage of vinyl or rhinestones, and the clientele is equally flashy. It's not unusual to see a drag queen trying on size 12 platforms, or a straight guy in search of stilettos. No matter who you are, what you're looking for, what you look like or what you want to look like, open-minded staff won't bat an eyelash--real or false.

The Goods
An extravaganza of clothes for men and women--especially men who dress up as women. Drag queens, cross-dressers, clubbers and Halloweenies find a wide selection of vintage clothing, club wear, costumes, novelty tees, jewelry, shoes, hats, headpieces, sunglasses, makeup and more. Don't miss the colorful wig room in back and the sparkly tiaras up front.
