Really concerned. I'm pretty sure this shop is writing their own reviews. I went in because I saw many 5 star ratings here. This place doesn't have more than 5 minutes to spare for anyone. Honestly the 15 minutes I've ever spent at a retail shop. I came in, looking for something simple. I was told to buy a helmet so I took the time to find something that would fit my child-sized head (I don't have a lot of money to spare) I was told that they would all fit the same and to "just pick one". Needless to say I found one that actually fits at another shop. Called back and received 100% attitude. Stay away unless you can be in and out... although their inventory isn't all that impressive anyway.

Added space means more inventory at ON THE ROUTE. Bought my Project One 5900 at OTR a few years ago. Last time in, I was astonished to find they added an entire storefront to serve road and tri clients. The guys tell me it will allow them to carry a deeper inventory.

This has always been one of the best shops in any city, and it's great to see them grow. Jose is a master mechanic and the guys are super helpful. I've been going there for years and would not consider another shop.

nice bike shop. went in with the girlfriend this weekend after reviewing shops online--this one is worthy of the reviews...jared and john helped fit us to the right bike w/ test drive. not a huge selection but solid brand names. jared even helped hook up the new bike rack...10% off anything at time of purchase and for 1 month after. overall good experience.

Lakeview bike shop serves up just what you'd expect.. The Scene
From outside, there's little to distinguish this Lakeview bike shop from a dozen others around the city, and inside the trend continues. Two walls of gleaming bikes line the front of the store, with another wall of less glamorous models further back, along with the service department and a modest selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories (though
bike-specific sunglasses are very well represented). But riders praise the service department, and the friendly staff gets high marks for its responsiveness both before and after the sale.

The Goods
All the usual brands are here-Trek, Cannondale, Bianchi-with a few more specialized ones at the upper end, like Quintana Roo, Guru, and Yeti. The selection is canted toward the well-heeled weekend warrior, with mountain bikes favoring the expensive full-suspension models that serve little purpose within the confines of the city, and road and triathlon
bikes in all the latest geometries and materials.

Fantastic Service. I just bought a road bike from On The Route and I couldn't have been happier with the service. The guys at the store never tried to up-sell me, gave me discounts on the bike without asking - when I came to pick it up, after I had already bought it, they took an hour with me to show me how to use the clipless pedals, how to change a flat, and basically went through all things I might need. Fantastic service - good selection of goods.

great bike shop. After searching 10 bike shops in Chicago and intensively on the web. On the route had the bike I wanted and went through a custom fitting and let me test ride about 5 bikes. They we're totally low pressure and very cool. Not a lot of "This is the bike I have and it's only $3500" crap. Thanks On the Route. Totally reccomended.
