Editorial Review for Uncle Fun – by Nikki Turec
The Scene
Although specializing in nothing, Uncle Fun has something for everyone--gadgets, toys, knickknacks, posters and a variety of novelty items. Fun-loving employees, boppin' tunes and an atmosphere that brings you back to childhood are additional draws. As Uncle Fun (a.k.a. Ted Frankel) says, "Everybody who comes here is a kid, but some are in bigger bodies than others."
The Goods
Selection as chaotic as a garage sale, but with even more neat surprises. Expect fun finds like teen idol pocket Romeo books--who could live without a volume of Brad Pitt pics?--Smurf miniatures, "Midlife crisis is a pisser" dolls, and posters of celebrities past and present. Looking for that fighter with the kung fu grip your parents wouldn't buy you? Uncle Fun makes it his job to hunt for things like that, fulfilling many a customer's need to give old memories new life.

From bobble head toys to tiny plastic fetuses, there's no silly plastic plaything in the world that this shop doesn't have. it's the kind of place where even the employees are jokesters; once when i was in line a guy shocked me with a toy buzzer! it's all in fun, though, and a silly, friendly spirit prevails. great for gifts!
Pros: great gag gifts
