Tips for Limestone City Grill

Wow! I thought it was just me. You have describe George to a T. Definitely a candidate for oaf of the year. But with an IQ less than half his waist size, he doesn't act on his own. His task master, and the root cause of this inn-hospitability is the owner - the lovely Ms. Kristie Jeanes. A tight-lipped, stone-faced, petite woman. You usually can find her, lurking in some inconspicuous corner, looking like her panties are in a permanent bunch, and keeping a watchful eye on the wait staff making sure they're not bringing any water! A female version of the soup Nazi is a good comparison. Just prior to my encounter with Georgie boy, our waiter told me he could be FIRED for bringing a glass water to a customer. Fortunately, there are a zillion fine eatery's within a (lime)stones throw. Alguire's to the East. Granite City Grill, PF Changs, Johnny's and Rock Bottom to the West, Cooper Hawk to the South and many more that I have yet to visit. All have better food, a customer friendly environment, and yes, even a glass of water, (with lemon if you desire). Heard of lip stick on a pig - this place is nice decor on a dive. Unless you really enjoy mediocre food and customer abuse, your entertainment dollars will be best enjoyed elsewhere.

AVIOD. The food wasn't that bad. Neither was the entertainment. However, the staff and management are very rude and dumber than owl poop! A few glasses of wine with dinner. A couple of cocktails afterwards. But DON"T dare ask for water! It's two bucks a bottle once the music starts. Ask a second time - and a very fat Mexican dude escorts you out the door. No kidding. Jack Gibbons, Outback and Coopers Hawk are down the road a bit. Much better

food, and definitely a nicer atmosphere

NEVER AGAIN. We live around the corner of the Limestone Grill and do not frequent the restaurant. After our most recent experience we will NEVER go back and will not recommend it to any of our friends. Meals were blah and very overpriced for what was presented to us. The person who prepares and plates the meals does not deserve the title of "chef". My ahi tuna was presented with a scoop of blah rice and a heap of even more blah vegetables. Steamed broccoli, carrots and cauliflower with ahi tuna? Really? Our neighbor ordered steak, my husband had pork and the plates all looked the same with identical heaps of cheap steamed vegetables. Terrible. The owner of the resaurant should pay attention to the presentation of the meals and the pairing of the fish and meats with the vegetables. Waste of money and time. HIRE A GOOD CHEF!!

The last straw. Because I live a block away from this restaurant, I have been there about 10 times. However, I will never go back again. On top of its ridiculous prices for a neighborhood restaurant, they recently began charging us $2 for a glass of TAP WATER. We were regular customers who were eating and drinking the entire time we were there. When we asked to speak to a manager about it, he was rude and unprofessional. I am very disappointed.

papashep. This is one of the finest places on the south side of Chicago. Service and food as good as downtown maybe even better.

It is a place everyone shoud experience for themself

A breath of fresh air. I was amazed when I walked into the Limestone Grill. This is a beautiful place for either a nice dinner or just to have a drink in the lounge. Service was great and the staff was very friendly. I usually go to the fancier (aka more expensive) places downtown to get food/service/atmosphere like this.
