Chicago Fitness Center

Owner

Chicago Fitness Center opened its doors in October 1992 and became the first gym in Chicago to successfully combine 2 unique programs, weight training & martial arts. Initially weight training & martial arts were considered incompatible in that weight training made you too slow. Wrong! Chicago Fitness Center offers 2 fully-equipped weight rooms. One room dedicated to all cardio & "upper body" equipment & the second room dedicated to "lower body" equipment.

They also offer a state of the art aerobics facility, newly remodeled men's & women's locker rooms, a professional kickboxing ring, an indoor running track & Full Swing indoor golf course. They are now the headquarters for the internationally acclaimed U.S. Shidokan Karate Association. Combine all the above with Chicago Fitness Center?s unique blend of sights & sounds & you now have one of the premier fitness facilities in Chicago.

C.F.C. is one of the best gyms in the country. I know cause I've been a gym rat for 44 years and have worked out all over the country. They are constantly upgrading. I've since moved from Chicago and the thing I miss the most in the city I love is Chicago Fitness Center. I felt like family there. I would wake up sometimes at 3A.M. and head to the gym. They're open 24/7. Oh how I miss that place.

I spent a while looking for a convenient health club with reasonable prices, long hours (sometimes I like to work out after midnight), no hassles, and enough equipment that I don't have to wait to use a machine. This place seems perfect so far. The helpful girl at the desk gave me a tour, answered a few questions, then sold me a day pass for $10, and said I could apply that toward membership if I decided to join. That was it. No sales pressure at all. There is plenty of weight equipment, at least 3 of each machine. There are maybe 50 cardio machines - treadmills, ellipticals, bikes. Not thnewest equipment, but all brand name and in good shape. It's $400 for a year, $500 with all classes included. There's pay parking in the back for 50 cents/hour. It's also 24/7, which is a big plus.
