Love the soft serve!.
The hotdogs, burgers and fries are great, but I always stop in there to have a cup or cone of the soft serve. You've gotta try the soft serve. Love it!

You can't miss this famed north-side hot dog spot--just look the giant wiener, stabbed on a fork, 100 feet above Peterson Avenue..
The Scene
The dining area is smaller than you'd think, decorated by some amusing pieces of "art", including Mona Lisa eating a hot dog or a hot-dog-eating wolf in stained glass. But head up to the counter and put in your order--during the lunch rush, it can get confusing as the cooks and cashier are moving so quickly, it's seems chaotic. But listen for your number and you're in business.
The Food
The regular dog is the simple Chicago classic-- a bun-length steamed dog topped with a pickle, raw onion, neon-green relish, mustard, tomato slices and sport peppers. The jumbo char dog (charred on the grill after being boiled) is terrific and large enough for the biggest appetite. The crisp fries are thick-cut and very tasty, while the large order of onion rings is enough for 3-4 to share. Gyros and burgers are both giant-sized.

THE WORST HOT DOGS, AND AT ONE TIME WERE THE BEST.
SINCE THE NEW OWNERS TOOK OVER THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE, THE HOT DOGS WERE COLD, AS WAS THE BREAD, THE ONCE AND MIGHTY FRIED MINI- BURGERS WERE TERRIBLE. VERY CHEAP AND STUPIDO WNERS, THEY WASTED A GOOD ICON.

the fries are the best feature here.
the hot dogs and hamburgers are ok but the fries are excellent , very crisp , highly salted (i like fries that way) and they have always been made fresh to order when i have been there service was decent and the orders i have made have been accurate every time

The Best.
I have been going to wolfy's since I was 4 years old, and for the last 35 years, I have found no other hot dog that taste as good as theirs. There hot dogs are real beef. When ever me and dad are close to Wolfy's since we live out in McHenry County we always swing by and and have a hotdog...

Rude.
Used to have to wait in line at Wolfy's because it was so crowded. That doesn't happen anymore and if thay don't learn how to say thank you there will never be long lines at WOlfy'd again. It's really a shame but the service is so poor that people in the neighborhood are getting into their cars and driving elsewhere.
