Bringing a dose of local love to a Mag Mile mall, this Vosges outpost is small but mighty. Love that they've always got little samples out!
Delicious and sexy chocolate. Beautiful little shop with organic chocolate choices that include "Wink of the Rabbit Caramels" and "Organic Peanut Butter Bon-Bons". Love, love, love this chocolate shop!!
Awesme Truffles. I took my girlfriend here after lunch (actually she dragged me here). She couldn't resist checking out a chocolate store that she had heard so much about. We came here and the employee here really helped us out by letting us sample the different kinds of chocolate that they had... YumMMmmm. We ended up getting a box of truffles that came in a nice purple box and tied off with a nice lavendar ribbon. My girlfriend was able to choose any of the chocolate truffles that they had to make her own assorted box... and boy did she look like a kid eyeing candy for the first time. After we left the store, I can tell you that the box did not stay wrapped up for too long. The box labeled all the chocolates and even came with instructions as to how to enjoy a truffle. Overall, it was a great experience for my girlfriend and I.
The color purple reigns supreme at this hip, haute chocolatier..
The Scene
Bold splashes of purple benchmark the decor, packaging and overall feel of this tiny but luxurious sweet shop. The small, unusual candy collection caters to those most comfortable with decadence, but the average passerby still wanders in. Two small tables offer a spot for munching.
The Goods
Odd pairings make the best marriage. Here you'll find peculiar bedfellows such as milk chocolate and violet, Irish whiskey and white pepper and dark chocolate laced with ginger, wasabi and black sesame seeds. Exotic truffles are the treat of choice; they look more like works of art than edibles. Candy bars--far from your everyday suspects--include the Budapest Bar, a heady blend of dark chocolate and sweet Hungarian paprika, while the Naga Bar pairs Indian curry with coconut flakes and milk chocolate. Couture cocoas can also be found, and include elixirs like ivory hot chocolate infused with lemongrass, Kaffir lime and lavender.
C'est magnifique!!!!. I am in love with Vosges Haut Chocolat. The chocolates are for the most part very non traditional with combinations that most people would not think to put together or try. But I have always been pleasantly surprised when I try something that I ordinarily would not. For instance the caramel collection included a candy with Mexican guajillo chili + licorice root + organic pumpkin seed + dark chocolate topped with green pumpkin seed. This particular caramel is one of my favorites. I also love the butter toffee and though I am not a traditional marshmallow lover I crave the caramel marshmallows. This is a must go to spot.
