Delicious food and Czech Beer!!!!. The food is a whole new experience. I NEVER TRIED BOHEMIAN CUISINE BEFORE, BUT THIS RESTAURANT REALLY GOT ME HOOKED. The liver dumpling soup is so exquisite. Liver??? does it sound tasty? Just try it... With your food do not forget to ask for a krusovice beer or a pilsner urquell.
You will be sick to your stomach!. DON'T EAT THERE PLEASE!!! I ordered the chicken paprika and GOD only knows what was in there! When we passed by we saw that is was located next to an aminmal hospital... hmmm?.... My boyfriend had the meatloaf and it looked like somthing that was frozen and premade like those T.V dinners . He said it tasted like salsberry steak and a mix of somthing hes never had before maybe dog food. The green beans were definatly from can and the potatoes were instant mashed potatoes from a box (they were the best). Even the waiter felt sorry for us. Don't go, its not worth it no matter how cheap it is.
Grezt tasting authentic Czech food. The menu has about 10 traditional Czech selections. Today, I tried their "Svickova" and my friend had "Koprovka". Both tastes great. To add to the editorial review, dinners include both soup and salad, not just one. From beers, go for Radegats rather than the other choices, even though you can't really go wrong. On the critical side, their potato dumplings were a little mushy and fruit dumplings could use more skorice and cukr :-) The staff was excellet! By the way, you can pay with a Credit Card here unlike the Czech Plaza Restaurant just a mile up the Cermak Road.
Vintage Bavarian-inspired haus has serves Bohemian favorites to a loyal, local crowd..
In Short
With its stenciled walls, arched doorways and stained glass windows, this restaurant seems of another time and place; a bar area with chiseled wood walls, antler chandeliers and taxidermy animals bolster the eccentric atmosphere. In the dining rooms, regulars carve away at plates of homemade meat loaf, breaded pork tenderloin and svickova (pickled beef). All dishes include a choice of soup or salad, dumplings, boiled or mashed potatoes, sauerkraut or vegetable and traditional desserts.
Great Czech cuisine. This place's ambiance is great. You feel like you're in a cabin in the mountains of the Czech Republic. Wait staff is curtious and some even attractive. Excellent bar also mostly staffed by attractive women and the prices are phenomenal for both drinks and food. Czech beer on tap.
