Trippy hotel bar scene. The Base Bar, located in the Hard Rock Hotel, is a great place to peoplewatch. Chicago tourists staying in the hotel congregate in the bar in the evenings and the rest of the crowd is a mix of trendy locals and girls night out groups and visiting celebrities or celeb wannabees. Music is good, drinks are expensive but fine. It's just an interesting scene.

Hot sounds and a sexy lounge scene define the Hard Rock Hotel's bar.. In Short
Adjacent to the sleek lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel, the bar pulses nightly with DJ-selected techno beats and a mix of laid-back Chicago visitors and fashionable night owls. While the building's shell is historic, the bar's look is decidedly contemporary: diaphanous curtains, long, low couches and a dark purple, brown and charcoal color scheme. A full bar is available, as is a late-night appetizer menu of shareable selections.

Overall good stay but staff needs help.. Love the location and decor of the hotel. Rooms were very nice but don't pay for upgraded view.

Workout room: above average.

Staff seems to view customers as an anoyance. Avoid contact if you want to avoid frustration.

Address is Michigan Ave. but the entrance faces Wacker.

Can't Get it Together!. Yes this hotel is new and yes this hotel is close to attractions, but this hotel staff does not have it together yet! The staff made me feel like I was putting them out. I also thought the music was too loud in the lobby. Plus, their restaurant was supposed to be open by now and clearly has a ways to go before it is done.

I would not recommend this place until they can get it together!

V-DAY Rocked my World!. This hotel is amazing, being a New Yorker, I haven't seen such friendly and quality service in a very long time. The rooms are beautiful, the flat screen TV made it difficult to want to venture into the windy, cold weather. The music is great...this place has a lot of potential for cheeseyness, however it is absolutely classy and fun! The location is great, very close to Michigan Ave. All in all staying at the Hard Rock, made my Valentine's Day a really great time!

What a weekend. I have been to Chicago many many times in the last 15 years and this is the first time I have gone home thinking that I got an awesome deal on a hotel.

From the time I got out of the car from the airport, until the time I left...I felt like I was the only one the staff was working for.

The rooms are immaculate and very very tastefully done. The whole hotel, in fact, is very stylish and trendy with a possibility of overtaking my previous choice of the House of Blues as one of my new hotel hangouts downtown.

From the free breakfast they offered as a consolation for the restaurant not being completed to the turndown at night complete with chocolates, everything the staff did made our stay one of the most memorable we have ever had in Chicago.
