We are very sorry this guests was not pleased with their stay at our hotel.

We are proud of our rigorous cleaning practices, and assure future guests that the guestrooms and the common areas of our property are impeccably clean and meet the four star standard that our ranking represents. Our beds are some of the most comfortable in town.

Our rooms were intentionally designed to mimic that of a nightclub with muted lighting and rich colors chosen to absorb the nightline glows from the lights of Michigan Avenue, which our hotel flanks.

We are a Hard Rock Hotel and of course we play music throughout the common areas, with varying volume levels set by staff depending on time of day. We do not blare music in our hotel, and we assure guests a pleasant musical experience complemented by the authentic memorabilia for which our brand is known.

Nice, comfy rooms, no place to get a bite to eat. My Fiance and I stayed at the Hard Rock in January of this year for a little weekend get-a-way. The location is wonderful and the hotel was very modern and lived up to the "Hard Rock" name. The rooms reflected this as well with it's big screen TV and such. The view was ok, although we mostly saw the business building across the street from our room - we couldn't see much else, though. When we wanted to get a bite to eat (and didn't feel like paying $20 for a burger), we had to leave the hotel and go down the street to Subway or walk across the street to Bennigans. It would have been nice to have had an actual restaurant IN the hotel and not just a bar in the lobby. The shower had very little water pressure, but our room was clean and was always clean when we left and came back after a long day of walking, shopping and site seeing. The staff were very friendly, we only dealt with the lobby check-in/check-out staff. Overall, I would not want to stay here again. I would like to find a nice hotel on the same street, maybe north of the river with an on-site restaurant (or 2) for guests who don't want to order room service.

Contrary to this guest's understanding, our hotel actually features a fine dining restaurant (China Grill) which serves pan-Asian cuisine in family style dishes meant to share and pass. We are also located convenient to many fast-food restaurants in the Chicago loop and Magnificent Mile, as this guest suggests.

Loved It!!!. I stayed at the Hard Rock for a weekend vacation and I didn't want to leave. The service was outstanding! we forgot our toothbrushes and 2 were brought to our door in minutes. The front desk staff even printed off directions to her favoriate place for breakfast when we asked for a reccommendation! At night the lobby turns into a bar scene with trendy music and the bar gets crowded pretty fast. I can't wait to go back to chicago just to stay at the hard Rock again!

A little dark for my taste.... To start, I'll say the staff was friendly and helpful. They do pull off the rock-n-roll theme fairly well but in a dark and minimalistic sort of way. The colors are grey and black and the rooms have very little lighting, even in the bathroom. The room had a small side chair with a low back so don't plan on kicking your feet up and relaxing unless you get on the bed. Nice bedding and pillows. No wireless but a decent highspeed wired connection is available.

Our room wasn't filthy but it wasn't clean. Housekeeping seemed to have a problem getting the basin around our sink clean, when we left it had the same gunked on toothpaste that was there when we arrived four days earlier. We returned one day at 3:30 in the afternoon after a full day of walking and sightseeing to get a quick nap before getting ready for our evening out. Much to our surprise the room had not been cleaned. My wife was on the phone with the folks in the lobby when the maid knocked on the door. We left the room to take our nap in the lobby which was a MAJOR bummer.

Location is great, hotel is pricey and mediocre in my opinion.

I wish a hard rock would hit this hotel and put it out of it's misery. The only bonus was the amenities and location (both of which are pretty good). The Valet was a nightmare-I have a brand new sports car and I heard the valet speed it away (way too fast) and come to a screeching HALT that could be heard down Michigan Ave. The hotel is super Unorganizedthey OVERSELL the hotel all the timethey walked (where there send the people that had reservations, then give their rooms away) part of my group to another hotel, they do this a lotgranted they do have you go over to the W Lakeshore Drive but regardless I made the reservation at the Hard Rock and I would like to stay there not some other hotel. It is OK but with all the issues I had I cant recommend it to anyone.

finally something different!. finally a hotel that has a different look from all the others!

This hotel looks cool and has it's act together. The reception people are friendly, the rooms look great and the bar is open late!

I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure for the location and the service I received.

Sleek rock-and-roll style in a historic art-deco skyscraper on Michigan Avenue.. The Scene
Located in the historic Carbon and Carbide Building, the Hard Rock Hotel pairs chic contemporary design with the skyscraper's existing architectural details. The elevator lobby has art-deco touches and its original marble. A few steps up, the front-desk area has a sexy, lounge-y feel with low-slung couches, sheer, dark curtains and black marble on the walls. Off to the side, a small stage in the bar hosts live bands or DJs nightly. Upstairs, each floor pays homage to musical artists with oversized art and memorabilia cases.

The Details
The 381 rooms are equipped with high-tech amenities like 27-inch flat-screen TVs, CD-DVD players, complimentary high-speed Internet service and Nintendo. Other amenities include feather-top beds, cordless phones, terry-cloth bathrobes, Gilchrist & Soames bath products, 24-hour room service and a fitness room. Deluxe rooms boast stunning views of the downtown area and the Chicago River, plus extra living space.

Weekend in the Windy City. The hotel was clean. The bed was very comfy, and easy to get a good-nights-sleep. I liked the size and layout of the room, but there was no room in the fridge for my own food. The provided towels are the biggest that I have ever seen. The shower was nice and hot. I was disappointed that the hotel only had one restaurant, but hey, this is Chicago and there are plenty of places to eat. ALthough it would have been nice to be able to find food after midmight without having to order room service.

The hotel is very hip, but I would not bring small kids to stay. There was plenty of eye-candy in the hotel lobby-bar.

Parking for two nights was $56, but the valet and staff make you feel like you are number one.

Lifetime memory. My fiance booked a room at the Hard Rock for the night he was going to propose to me last summer. He got there early to check in and bring our bags (it was a surprise) and he happened to mention to the lobby staff that he was planning to propose, and they upgraded us to a suite for free! Our suite was beautiful - from the gorgeous skyline views to the flat-screen TV and hip, modern style. They treated us like royalty from the second I stepped from the car until we left the next day. We will definitely stay here again!
