Bad service, Tiny Portions. My coworker and I ordered delivery from Baba Palace this afternoon and were greeted with terrible service.

I ordered the Chicken Biryana, which, although tasty, was mostly bone--actual cut pieces of bone WITHOUT meat on them, no joke.

My coworker ordered the Chicken Tikka, which was a ridiculously small portion. Although it was good, it was extremely small. It was basically a little piece of chicken wrapped in tin foil--for seven dollars.

Our Naan was cold, and the custard we ordered tasted like something out of a high school cafeteria in a poor school system. My coworker is actually feeling nauseous after eating this. We think it was the custard.

We called and asked for a refund before actually eating the food, and they told us that we would have to bring it down ourselves instead of them coming to pick it up, because they use taxi drivers as a delivery service. Which, by the way, costs five dollars.

In the end, the "hafty" portions they advertise as well as the prominent "we deliver" on the menu are extremely misleading. Our experience with the customer service they offered as well as the food we received was so lacking that we will definitely never eat their food again. We encourage you to find somewhere else and get more for your money!

Cheap Indian food, not so bad.. If you ever wondered where the taxi drivers eat and hang out, this is the place. They all come to Baba Palace. Every single one of them.

The food here is very cheap, probably the cheapest Indian restaurant I've eaten at. The food tastes pretty good, though I'm not a strong Indian food advocate. They just repainted the outside last week, so it no longer looks like a haunted house from outside. I haven't been to inside in couple weeks, but I remember the inside looked worse than the outside. If Chicago required restaurants to post its sanitary inspection grade like they do in LA, the Baba Palace probably wouldn't do too well. If you're a clean/neat freak, you may want to avoid this place. It's a hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant with good price and full of taxi drivers.

Unbelievable food and value. I wish more people would know about this place. You don't have to go to Devon or the suburbs for good South Indian food. This place offers great food for even greater value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is open 24 hours, and the menu changes daily, with a few dishes that are offered every day. The only problem is, if you go there outside regular meal hours, the daily specials may not be available.

Follow the cab drivers to this spot for Indian/Pakistani fare at unbelievable prices.. In Short
At all hours, night and day, this worn-around-the-edges spot is packed with Chicago's cab drivers, running in for a cheap meal on the go. Watch for daily specials on the wall as you walk in, then go elbow-to-elbow with the cabbies to place your order. The menu features item descriptions in broken English, but be prepared for heat. Go for anything with basmati rice, and be sure to get a side of naan (Indian flatbread).
