In Short – Red-and-white tablecloths, family-sized tables and friendly staff contribute to the convivial atmosphere for those dining in, but this popular local restaurant chain is a favorite for takeout, too. Thin-crust pizzas are cut in squares, heavy on mozzarella, easy on sauce. Stuffed pies are flaky-crusted with ingredients that include fresh pineapple, shrimp and classic pepperoni, onion, green pepper and the like. Other popular plates include sandwiches (Italian beef, sausage, meatball), salads and a plethora of pasta dishes.

Editor's Tips

The Extras:
Having a party? Have Giordano's cater. In addition to pizzas, there are party trays with pastas, salads and sandwiches plus a selection of desserts.
Know Before You Go:
Stuffed pizzas take 30-40 minutes to bake, so it's a good idea to call and place your order ahead of time.

Horrible Service

by gourmetseeker at Citysearch

This is the WORSE restaurant experience for us in Chicago. The hostesses were ignorant, and the manager was extremely rude. We took the editor's recommendation to order the pizza in advance so that we could save some time to visit somewhere else. The manager was unbelievably rude, he was questioning me where was I planning on going and why couldnt we wait for the pizza-which we shouldnt be explaining at the first place. Just bake the damn pizza and we will come back later! By the time we went back, the hostesses seemed like they didnt know what they were doing. I asked if the pizza was ready, they asked me to go ask the kitchen myself. WHAT? Should I go bake the pizza myself, too? I highly recommend taking your business somewhere else, the pizzas here were below average, and the service was definitely the worse in Chicago

  • Pros: NONE
  • Cons: horrible manager, ignorant hostesses, bad pizzas
