What People Are Saying About Uptown Lounge

The Scene – This prototypical lounge on a gritty Uptown stretch offers an open but intimate space with artwork-dotted walls, flickering candlelight and blond hardwood floors. The bar is tucked against the east wall, contemporary high-backed couches line the perimeter, and low tables with ottoman-style seats fleck the middle. Twenty- and 30-somethings in fashionable footwear and leather coats converse over bottled beers, Effen martinis and peach schnapps concoctions, or watch sports on two flat-screen TVs. A few holdovers from the Saxony (the site's former dive incarnation) slump…
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- The bar doesn't have draft beer or a bottled beer menu--you'll have to peer over the bartender's shoulder into the glass case behind to pick your poison.
- When to Go:
- Crowds gather before and after concerts at the nearby venues; plan accordingly. If plenty of company is your thing, Sunday night karaoke is also pretty popular.
Love this late night bar- and now they have food! AWESOME!

I went there with 4 friends after dinner at Demera and thought we would stay for a quick drink....yep, stayed for 4 hours and had a blast! We purchased a drink wristband for $25 each and drank from 10pm-1am.
We eventually realized we needed some appetizers to help soak up the extra adult beverages we didn't plan on having. We tried the Homemade Hummas, Fried Ravioli, and Mac & Cheese Bites and scarfed them down like we hadn't just eated a huge meal hours before! Way to go Uptown Lounge on the food- awesome! Our cocktail server Angela was on top of our drink orders and she was one of the friendliest people ever! Something kind of cool - the band members (and roadies) from the bands that played at the Aragon came in for drinks and we spent some time chatting with the drummer who was way chill. Music- gotta love a DJ that will spin everything from Prince to Frank Sinatra to Kings of Leon to Mellencamp!
We will be back for sure! I'm not sure why I haven't spent more time here, but it's definitely on my new favorite bar list!
- Pros: Great DJs, awesome staff, appetizers on the weekends
- Cons: Parking is rough during concerts at Riv & Aragon
