Tryst... an upscale lounge

An upscale lounge nestled in the friendly confines of Wrigleyville.

Tryst is one of several new lounges along Wrigleyville's Clark Street that aim to give the traditionally sporty strip a trendy makeover while maintaining the area's laid-back attitude. The owners have completely renovated the space formerly occupied by Sanko to give it an airy, South Beach feel, complete with lightly colored walls, plenty of banquette seating and stainless steel finishes. There's a menu filled with small, sharable entrees all priced around $9, including ahi tuna sliders, crabcakes and steak kabobs. And the bar features about six tap beers, several more bottles and an extensive martini list.

Editorial Review for Tryst... an upscale lounge – by Maura York

In Short
Dozens of candles, sleek banquette seating and a retractable flat-screen TV lend refinement to this intimate two-room lounge. The martini list features a dozen delights for the coiffed 20-something clientele, but six taps and more bottles sate traditional beer-drinkers. A food menu offers shi-shi dishes like scallop and strawberry salad with poppyseed glaze, though most patrons stick to a diet of eye candy while here.

Insider Tips

When to Go

Friday and Saturday nights are packed, a good scene if you're hoping to hook up. Weeknights, especially in the eary evening, are quieter and better for leisurely dinners and drinks.

Where to Sit

Snag a seat on the raised platform at the lounge's large front windows (open when the weather is nice) for good Clark Street people-watching.

This place is one of my favorites in Wrigleyville. The bartenders are quick and the service is awesome! The servers are always friendly and always attentive. When I was there I got one of their pizzas, and would reccommend the food to everyone. If you are looking for somewhere to go during the week for a drink after work or just with a group of friends, this is the place to go. If you are looking for good music and a fun, friendly environment on the weekend then Tryst is your place as well. I will for sure be going back in the near future!

Pros: Great service, food and environment! Good drink specials- ($5 martinis on fridays as well as $10 happy hour from 8-10)

Cons: ...cant think of any...

This is a great upscale lounge located in sports bar central. It's one of Chicago's best kept secrets! Great staff, great food (try the pesto pizza), and a fun atmosphere (especially during the Michigan State games!!). They have great specials too ($5 martinis when I was there and I know they have $6 pitchers of beer during the State games). This is a great bar if you are a little older and want to skip the college bar feel of most of the other bars in the area.

Pros: Great specials, good food, very fun staff!!
