“Good wine is meant to be enjoyed with food.”
“Good food but!”
Perfect Event Venue in Chicago!. Came here for the first time this month for an alumni event and will definitely be back! We rented out a beautiful party room and had a huge selection of seasonal, authentic food. Service, food, and venue were all fantastic.
Don't Miss Penny Wine on Fridays!. We had a very enjoyable and reasonably priced lunch at Carlucci. We happened to show up there on a Friday which is penny wine day. With each meal we were able to purchase up to three glasses of wine for only a penny. The food was tasty, the people-watching was excellent and the penny wine was such a bonus that we ordered dessert. I'm looking forward to returning when the weather is warm and the patio is open!
Expected More. We went for an early dinner around 5:00 pm. The bread and oil that was served was below average, very little taste. I had the chicken parma and she had lobster ravioli. The chicken was very tough and the pasta was a little under cooked. The wife said the lobster ravioli was actually very good. The pasta sauce for the chicken was very good. We didn't have any wine, drinks or desserts, so I can't comment on that. We will try other Italian restauants before we return here....
A menu of Tuscan dishes served in a cosmopolitan suburban setting..
In Short
Sleek and modern with high-beamed ceilings, ornate lighting and artistically inlaid carpets, this special-occasion spot serves up Italian entrees like beef filet with broccoli rapini and mashed Yukon Gold potatoes. Other options include hand-rolled pasta quills with potatoes, haricots verts and arugula pesto; pizza margherita and insalata di Verdure with Tuscan autumn vegetables with lemon, honey and white-truffle oil. At lunch, there's an assortment of gourmet panini.
Good food but!!!!. The problem with this establishment is a problem which plagues many other restaurants, the wine list is ridiculously overpriced. I just do not think anyone should charge over 2x for a bottle of wine. Carlucci's pricing was over 3x. Good wine is meant to be enjoyed with food. It's hard to enjoy the wine when you know are paying too much.
