Great Place to Feel Unwelcome. The staff was more interested in their cellphones, gadgets or each other than the customer.
Food Good- Staff Awful.. Same old hat for this neighborhood. Nothing really stands out at this place. Food was good but the staff was rude and the service was poor. If you never want to grow-up and stay 21 FOREVER- this is the place for you. Now that the upstairs is open, maybe I'll check it out again.
Southport sports bar draws a neighborhood crew to watch the game, grab a bite and listen to live music..
In Short
Old black-and-white photos of the Messner clan adorn the walls of this family-owned Wrigleyville hangout. The space is rich with mahogany accents and offers seating for 100 at booths and tables, plus 30 more outside on the patio. A local crowd of sports fans keep their eyes peeled on the 42-inch plasma TVs--19 of 'em--and nosh on bar food favorites like burgers, nachos and artichoke dip.
Great food, horrible staff. The food is awesome and there's a lot of options and it has good drink specials, but the staff is horrendous. Don't bother going if you expect a waitress to be nice to you (unless, of course, you're a frat boy she's probably going to hook up with)
Great food, drinks, and atmosphere!. They have great food and drinks at a very reasonable price. My favorites are their Bloody Mary's, corn dogs, and chicken caesar wrap. This is the perfect place to hang out with friends - not too loud, but still enough going on. They have great specials too!
Great New Addition to Southport. This is a great place to go to relax and watch a game. It is crowded enough that you can mingle, but not so crowded that you can't move. The food is good, especially for the price. Drinks are great for the price. When I was there last week, the girl next to me actually compained because her drink was TOO strong. In my opinion, that is a compliment. It's pretty laid back until about 9, then it starts to get a little louder, but in a good way. Highly Recommended for a pub atmosphere.
