Sonia is fabulous!. I was really impressed with SQN. The salon is small and not at all pretentious. I had no problems making an appointment and the entire staff was really friendly. I read positive things about Sonia and her knowledge of blond highlights. Sonia was one of the nicest, friendliest stylists I have ever met. She was easy to talk to and she really listened to what I wanted and did not try to impose her ideas on me. She took her time and my color looks fabulous. I had a wonderful expience and will definately return.

BEST SALON IN CHIAGO.. YOU WALK IN AND EVERYONE IS SO VERY FRIENDLY. GREAT JOB ON HAIR. SO MANY PEOPLE CANNOT DO MY HAIR. JAMIE TOTALLY ROCKS. SHE KNOCKED IT OUT LIKE A TRUE PRO. I AM SO EXCITED I FOUND MY NEW STYLIST, I CANNOT WAIT TO HAVE THE BABY SO JAMIE CAN COLOR ME HAIR. PRICES ARE GREAT. OFFERS ROCK. KNOWLEDGE OF THE PERFECT PRODUCT FOR MY HAIR IS AMAZING. I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE AGAIN.

Relaxed, but professional!. This salon is awesome! I love my highlights - Jamie was awesome. The salon staff is welcoming and friendly. It was Jamie's birthday and they brought out a cake and everyone was singing! So unpretentious, but very professional - from products used to services offered. Great for someone on a budget, too!

great salon experience. I just moved to the Chicago area and was nervous about finding a salon. I decided to stop in one day, since it's right off the EL on my walk home. Trisha was more than willing to give me a consultation for a haircut. She knew exactly what she needed to do to fix the layers in my hair, after a previous stylist back home didn't listen to my needs. I made an appointment a few days later with her and now I LOVE my haircut! Love the salon, the music, and the people. They were all great with suggestions on products to use too. I highly recommend Sine Qua Non! :)

Reviews Written by Staff/Owner. Don't believe these reviews! They're written by the staff! Emilyfaerie is a receptionist, trisha80 is a stylist, lboton is the owner! I'm sure there are other reviews written by employees with the foresight not to use their real names as handles! Just google the salon and these names pop up in articles written about the place! I wouldn't recommend a salon that has to tout itself so heavily!

A salon worth trying!. I am new to the area and had my hair cut by Trisha. She did an excellent job of listening to me, and verifying what it was that I wanted before she actually started cutting. She was upbeat and friendly, and really took her time with my hair. There was absolutely no pressure at all to buy any kind of products, which was awesome. This tiny salon is excellent and I would highly recommend Trisha and SQN to anyone!

Relaxed friendly atmosphere, Great Hair Cuts!. I recently moved to Chicago from Milwaukee. I was impressed with the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of this salon (i.e., no pretention). I've always hated my hair (i.e., curly frizzy mess!) until my last hair cut. My stylist was cute, stylish, and warm, plus she has skills! I later found out she was the owner!

effing sweet!. i happened to come across sine qua non after just moving into the neighborhood. it was close by, so i gave it a try. i am so glad i did. carrie has rocked my locks into something i never imagined possible- i can actually wear my hair down now, a feat i could never have done before with this head of curls! she gave me a conditioning treatment that has softened my once tangly mess into manageability. awesome. all around, awesome. everyone that works there is so cool. totally recommend.

oh please. Who's writing these Santa Claus?. based on these reviews, i put a call into this salon. after being put on hold three times, once for more than 5 minutes, the receptionist had the nerve to tell me the salon requires my visa card to hold the reservation! excuse me???? And what do I get for the salon wasting my time??? This is a big NO. I'm not wasting my time with this spot! Now I'm beginning to wonder if the salon itself is putting up these recommendations ;(

amie is awesome. amie tamed my wild and curly hair and showed me how to style it. i really like how she suggested the right products and taught me how to use them before sending my on my pretty way. she is fun and totally understands my hair. also, i'm glad i decided to add on the bumble conditioning treatment to my service, which left my hair feeling soft and silky. i've already scheduled my next appointment!
