“Rockit's a great bar--I never had their food but heard about how great it was because they won "favorite new restaurant in River North" so I decided to check it out.”
“Everything had very strong unique flavors and I will defenitely go back there for the food!”
“The bartenders were so nice, heck, even the barback was very attentive.”
“Unless your looking for overpriced food and a bunch of weird old guys wearing Ed Hardy everything this isn't the place for you.”
“The food is rather disappointing, and don't expect quick service for your drinks/food even if you're at a table.”
There are 20 big televisions and food and drink specials during the tournament, like $6 truffle tater tots.

If you need an event space, the upstairs is perfect. Good food and booze to host friends and guests. Michigan bar too.

Although it's sorta lost its edge over the past 6 yrs, especially w the blow up of Hubbard St., Rockit has seriously good grub, including banging' burgers and salads.
The food is ok. The food is not that great. The burgers are too greasy... the staff is a little slow.... you get a better deal at English.
Great food and Great Crowed. This Burger has a different flavor then any Burger I have tasted. Not only does Rokit have good burgers, everything on they menue is rich in flavor. The atmosphere is great along with the crowd.
Mediocre food...at best, chastising server, good bar staff. I came here on a Saturday for dinner and was disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. The Rockit Pockits were served with ketchup on a bed of lettuce, which to me was not the best way to present this dish, anything on a bed of lettuce looks like it should be in a styrofoam box. The sweet potato fries were mushy like they were frozen. The burger was good, but that's not hard to screw up. Our server was "there" but we felt like she was chastising us when she would answer our questions. She had tattoos, but we don't remember her name. My wife ordered the tilapia dish and that was the saddest looking fish I have ever seen served. The string beans totaled to about 10 on the plate and the rice was disgusting. The only highlight of the night was sitting at the bar. The bartenders were so nice, heck, even the barback was very attentive. After sitting down and having good conversation with the bar staff, I left a lot happier than I initially was. I will only go back for a happy hour perhaps.
Best burger in Chicago!. It was very easy to become a regular at Rockit. In my first trip I was completely sold when I tasted the Rockit Pockets ( a Philly cheese steak twist) and the Rockit burger. the service is amazing, and thus complements the food well. After dinner, for a few more drinks, I highly recommend experiencing the upstairs level. Especially on Tuesdays when they have their "live band karaoke". This is the highlight of my week. A full band plays while you stumble and sing to a classic rock song. Best feeling ever.
Fantastic Cheeseburger. Wow, if you wait an hour for your waitress to show up without flagging someone down that's your own fault. Restaurants, like any business must hire new staff and train them. Sometimes people make mistakes. I went there recently and had a very nice meal. They have a very diverse food and drink menu. The waitress wasn't super attentive but she was easy to flag down when we wanted something - I like it that way. The kobe beef burger was among the best I have had (if not the best). Everything from the bun to the brie cheese was high quality. Our group left happy.
Great Bar/Restaurant, and now they have KARAOKE?!!!. I love Rockit! My friends and I go out there a lot during the week for food, drinks, and pool. I just found out that they're doing live band Karaoke on Tuesday nights now! I'm so excited! Rockit rocks!!
Worst Customer Service in Chicago.
I have eaten at Rockit numerous times over the past few years, and while I would never use the words "ambitious" or "intelligent" to describe the Rockit staff, the food and drinks usually found their way to the table eventually. Apparently not anymore.
I attempted to get brunch there on June 8, 2008. The initial ordering process went fine, but after an hour of not seeing our food or our waitress, I began to realize that this brunch was not meant to be. The waitress finally stopped back at the table after a little over an hour, and seemed utterly perplexed that we hadn't received our food yet. Willing to give her one more shot, my girlfriend ordered more coffee, and we assumed the waitress would at least put a rush on our order in the kitchen.
It was not to be. After another 15-20 minutes, not only did we realize the waitress was never coming back with the second coffee, she clearly had no intention of bringing our food. I found another waitress and explained the situation, at which time our waitress hurried over and assured me that she was going to talk to the manager and get this resolved.
After another endless wait we realized that there was no manager involved, nor would there ever be. So we left. Not surprisingly, no one noticed. Maybe David Schwimmer was at the bar or something.
Do yourself a favor and give this place a pass. There are bars with better food and atmosphere within the same block, and those bars do not act like you are putting them out by being there.
Great Place for Happy Hour. My friends and I often go to Rockit for drinks after work. Most nights, the bar is crowded but not too crowded. The drinks are priced reasonably. We always have a great time.
Cool Spot For a Hot Time. Tasty upscale nouveau burger and fry cuisine (the sweet potato fries are AWESOME) and a top-notch bar with plenty of good beers on tap. We were there on weekdays, but you can tell there are always plenty of well dressed members of the opposite gender available! In addition, we ran into several of the Cubs there after a game (they were very friendly). Overall, a great spot to have a late dinner and some grog.
Prepare to Move with the Crowd, Loud, Good Looking People. This place is usually crowded on the street level, mostly because first-timers are unaware of the upstairs "lounge" area which is more of a true bar. The food is rather disappointing, and don't expect quick service for your drinks/food even if you're at a table. I can't speak on the service downstairs in the legitimate "restaurant area", but a waitress passed my table upstairs about 4 times before we finally got her attention to order our drinks. I was a little underwhelmed. Had the crowd not been as good looking as they were, the night would've been a total bust. Hope your time here was better than mine.
