Please do not use Debi Lilly and her services. I was completely fooled by her overly bubbly personality acting like she was genuinely concerned about making my wedding amazing. I utilized her full service package for an exorbitant amount of money, thinking "if Oprah recommends her, she must be fantastic." After just weeks, I realized how manipulated I had been. I did not feel she was on my side, since she has to stay in good with venues more so than with me. The summary: we hired Debi and A Perfect Event in May, with a church and venue already picked out, but not finalized, for a far-out summer 2009 wedding. We met with her once and paid her. She worked up a very generic mock budget for us (our prior, somewhat-ignorant, back-of-the-envelope budget had more detail) and she placed a few calls for us confirming details. Problem #1: When she called a venue we had held, they told her that date had been rebooked and Debi Lilly told us we lost it to another couple. We were heart-broken. We found out weeks later that the re-booking was actually us – and that we in fact had the place - but Debi Lilly and A Perfect Event somehow missed that! Needless to say, someone else got our date. Problem #2: Family dynamics necessitated a change in city so we could no longer use “A Perfect Event” or Debi Lilly. This occurred about two weeks after we hired her and 14 months prior to the wedding. She has a clause in her contract saying that with cancellations she will bill hourly at $175 for hours worked to-date. She said she had worked 9 hours (2-3 max is plausible). She then refused to return the remainder our fee, generally ignoring us, lying (she actually tried to tell us that in 12 years no one has canceled), speaking down to us and claiming she was “on vacation all of June” (a wedding planner?). So here we are: Debi Lilly, Oprah’s famed wedding planner, trying to cheat us out of a few thousand dollars. Please do not use Debi Lilly or A Perfect Event!
Cons: condescending, unethical, rude, concerned more about money than reputation, bad person

While their parties may be just lovely, the way they treat their community and their neighbors is not. Weekly, they allow their staff to load and unload heavy equipment and other "party-related" materials as late as 3:00 AM with complete disregard for the fact that their store is in a residential neighborhood. Keep in mind that it is unlawful for them to do this after 10:00 PM and before 7:00 AM, so they break the law to throw your “Perfect Event”. Maybe Debi Lilly should use her own garage as their warehouse for a while. Perhaps after a month or so of her own children being woken by the trucks and shouts of her employees in the middle of the night she'll have a small taste of what's it's like to live by their Lincoln Avenue "boutique". Avoid this business; work with someone who cares about their neighborhood and their neighbors.
Pros: Some days their store is closed.
Cons: Some days their store is open.
