“Friendly staff, excellent drinks, good musix to sing and groove to, a warm and inviting atmosphere that has a good looking crowd.”
“I've been here on slow nights and on nights where the bar is packed and regardless, the bartenders are always friendly and know what they are doing.”

What am I missing?. Maybe I caught it on a bad night, but this place is a snooze button waiting to happen. Just a few people there, bartender could care less. I won't make a special trip back again, that's for sure.
They Know What They're Doing. With all the over pretentious spots in Chicago that tout a hot spot with bad customer service, Elm Street knocks them all down. Friendly staff, excellent drinks, good musix to sing and groove to, a warm and inviting atmosphere that has a good looking crowd. One of my fave pics. Why I go elsewhere is beyond me.
Wednesday PBR Rock Night. ESL is a great destination any night of the week. The staff is down-to-earth and fun and the music never disappoints. Be sure to check out Wednesday nights for $2 PBR and PBR Light Cans and impromptu open mike sessions from the staff. FYI: Don't be surprised if your PBR is comped...the rep likes to stop in and reward PBR drinkers with a few cans on her tab. On the weekends, I recommend heading out early to snag a seat at the bar.
Gold Coast hangout glams up dive-bar style..
In Short
This Gold Coast nightspot celebrates laid-back dive-bar culture smack in glitz central. Glass-topped whiskey barrels blend with loungy features like plasma TVs, a "floating" ceiling, sky-lit rooms, leather-cushioned walls and plush couches. Gals slurp Jell-O shots or sip champagne-infused cocktails served in nine-ounce flutes, while trucker hat-sporting dudes munch trail mix, jerky and chips and wash 'em down with PBRs.
NEVER LETS YOU DOWN.
HANG AROUND ELM STREET FOR A FEW HOURS & YOU'LL SEE WHY IT'S THE HOT SPOT.
WHETHER YOUR IMPRESSED BY LOCAL SPORTS STARS & CELEBRITIES OR THE CAST OF A MOVIE BEING SHOT IN TOWN, IT'S STILL VERY DOWN TO EARTH...IT NEVER LETS YOU DOWN.
Dave G. Place is cool as hell...when did it open? I live in the Gold Coast (Oak and Rush) and all of a sudden it just popped up. Friends dragged me there and had a great time. Go before it gets too hot...trust me, it will.
