Nice Experiences. Really solid fun bar. Sports events are a particular favorite time to stop. I was there during World Cup also and found the atmosphere and frenzy of patrons to be a blast. Sorry not everyone was happy.

Thanks Small Bar

Small Bar, Small Mentality!. One of the things I love about America, is being able to express my views whether I am for or against, without fear of intimidation. But if you are of a different view, you are not welcome at Small Bar! I was quietly routing for the small underdog African team when watching the world cup at Small Bar. I was in there for 45 minutes, when the security manager said to me that I am not wearing a wrist band, that everyone needs one that he did not see me go in and asked me to step outside and watch the game. 5 minutes later a couple comes in, he talks to them for a few minutes, he lets the man in without a wrist band and puts a wrist band on the woman and lets them in! Is it because I looked different? Is it because I was routing for a different team? What happened to a little friendly rivalry? If it was the Sox Vs. the Cubs would he have kicked out a Sox fan? He said he can do whatever he wants and even asked me to leave if I don't like it. Small bar, Small mentality!!!

Horrible Experience. We were taken to Small Bar off West Division Street in Chicago on Tuesday April 6th at around 7pm by a friend of ours who lives in Wicker Park. We were visiting from Columbus, Ohio and had with us my old exchange student from Munich Germany and his girlfriend. We sat down at the patio outside and I ordered 5 drinks. We were asked for our identification to be served alcohol (no problem), all of us who had United States driver licenses were not given a problem, however the same could not be said for our friends from Germany. When they produced their German passports as identification we were told that the establishment did not take non-american identification. We were astounded by this reponse and decided not give the restaurant our business.

I have taken the time to write this review because there are a couple of things wrong with this situation. For one, if a passport is accepted by United States Customs Agents to gain entry to our country, it should be said that a drinking establishment should extend the same courtesy in regards to proving their age (both he and his girlfriend are 28). I would also like to say that with the amount of negative attention the United States gets for our ignorance I was just flatly embarrassed by the servers refusal to serve our friends who we were welcoming to our country and this great city.

I hope in the future Small Bar will broaden their horizons when it comes to accomodating our country's visitors. Thank you for providing this medium as a way to share our experience.

Great Attitude, Excellent Service, Solid Music Selection and Pleanty of Good Beer. This place is where you want to be for those nights that you want a fun casual night out. The staff here truly wants to make you have a good night and the food (especially the pizza) is much better than you would think. I come into this place at least once a week for the great jukebox(songs you know and songs you should know) and the always changing and well researched beer selection. They really do care, and are very knowledgeable about, the beers they are offering. The relaxed attitude is contageous and fosters the ability to chill with friends any night of the week. The important game is usually on but most of the time the sounds are still solid tunes, do you really want to hear Joe Thiesman anyway? The bar is diverse which makes it comfortable for all and the street seating provides excellent people watching (especially the fakesters dining at Bravo). Chad manages a good place and Erica is the best waitress in chicago.

Small Bar: What a find!. Small Bar is clean, uncomplicated, and always a good time. The drinks are strong. The waitresses are always awesome and helpful. The crowd is diverse, interesting, and not too pretentious. They have a huge beer list, and some tasty food on the menu; nothing too fancy but it always hits the spot. This is the kind of place where you go to enjoy time with your friends over a strong drink and listening to great music.
