The Scene – Blond wood-paneled walls and canary tones open up this tiny counter-service-only eatery in Lincoln Park. Couples and singles wait for their orders amidst tropical reminders: vintage posters of hula girls and photos of lei-clad tourists and scenic vistas. For being a Hawaiian restaurant, they are missing a key food. Mauna Pua. Otherwise, food is good.
Love the bbq chicken!

I go to this place pretty frequently - anytime I'm getting a craving for what I consider teriyaki bbq chicken (sorry, I'm not hawaiian so I can't say if it's authentic, but it's delicious, regardless!). I love their mini-bbq plate lunch but don't be fooled by the "mini" - the portions here are very generous. comes with the hawaiian staples of white rice and macaroni salad. i love their spam musubi as well. and they do have some veggie options (e.g. tofu, side of broccoli), as well as most kinds of meats and some fish in bbq form or otherwise. what's great is they cook your food to order, so the meat doesn't get dry under a heat lamp. takes a little bit longer, but definitely worth the wait. the bbq chicken is really tender and flavorful. ambience is nice if you want to sit and eat, but I usually order ahead and get takeaway..
