“I've been in the restraunt, and the food is great.”
“This is the best Thai restaurant for creativity in flavor and presentation.”
“delicious flavor and very nice staff!”
“amazing cheap sushi”
Bad food & Service!. My wife and I took dinner with an out of town guest and his pad thai had a really bad taste/odor and upon investigation involving both of the owners it turned out they had used an unclean pan. Instead of saying sorry the owner came by initially after I brought to the attention our waiter and told me "A lot of people order the pad thai and they have never complained". We were reprimanded in front of our guest, which was weird. I used to like this place but the behavior of the owner during that visit was very rude & ignorant and brought obvious the issues with the management of this place. She did not know how to handle a simple situation. I suggest if you do have an incident here do not deal with owner Guen she is very prissy defensive not ideal for dealing with customer service issues but instead ask to talk to the other co-owner who is the cook in the back she will actually listen to what you have to say as she is the one who found out the reason for the taste difference is they used the wrong pan to cook the noodle. The staff always seems overworked and comes across tired, hurried and very unhappy. Do not risk potentially ruining a night out and spend your money at any of the other nearby compassionate edgewater restaurants.
Best crab rangoon in town no joke.
Crab rangoon? Little drops of heaven.
Sushi? Always fresh and perfect
Menu? always changing and keeping you on your toes
Atmosphere? romantic yet casual and comfortable
Style? artistic and creative
Price? doesn't get any better. If you have $40 for you and your date you will leave full and happy.
Just right Thai. My husband and I eat here frequently and we love it. Their food is always fresh and their staff is very friendly. They just added another room so It's not as crowded as is used to be which is nice. Street parking is usually pretty easy. We LOVE thai food and this is 1of our 2 top places!
Really yummy-- but a little slow. I've been in the restraunt, and the food is great. From the outside one doesn't expect the classy sushi chic design. The food is great! I just ordered them in this evening, and the wait time for delivery seems a little long, but well worth the wait.
amazing cheap sushi. absolutely delicious. very cute little restaurant. i had the spicy scallop and the santana maki rolls. some of the best sushi i have ever had. delicious flavor and very nice staff!! will def be back
Great to Have Around the Corner. This is the best Thai restaurant for creativity in flavor and presentation. Everything is served beautifully and tastes great. I love being able to get a sushi appetizer and a curry entree. Understandably, the service was very shaky when they first opened; now they have gotten things under control and the place runs smoothly. For anyone turned off by the service in those first few weeks, they are definitely worth another shot. The sushi and Thai dishes are outstanding. I recommend going on non-peak hours, because it does get very crowded, and the tables are very close together.
This unassuming storefront draws knowing locals for creative sushi and richly flavored Thai..
In Short
Barely noticeable from the outside, Indie Cafe is a cozy retreat with an exposed sushi bar, muted grey tones, soft hanging lighting, and quiet electronic music. Locals pack close tables for thrumming conversation and a tempting combo of Thai fare and sushi. Thai fare includes aromatic options like nasal-clearing tom yum and red or green curries; sushi lovers can opt for maki like the rainbow roll, a California roll topped with tuna, yellowtail, and salmon.
