Editorial Review for Potbelly Sandwich Works – by Katie Heffernan

In Short
The owners of a Chicago antique shop decided to start serving sandwiches to their customers in 1977--and it ended up taking over the business. As the restaurant expanded, natural woods and antique fixtures were used to re-create the signature, old-time country store look at every location. The warm, fresh-roll sandwiches share this classic character--from roast beef and provolone to the Wreck (salami, roast beef, turkey, ham and Swiss). Malts, shakes, root beer floats and homemade ice cream sandwiches complete the throwback.

As with all potbelly locations, sandwich varieties are plenty. Everything is made to order, so freshness is good here. Have to say the PB&J toasted is delicious!!! Cookies and shakes are the tops as well. This place gets pretty busy on weekends.

Pros: Great sanwich variety

Cons: Sometimes hard to get seat when busy
