With a 40-foot-tall palm tree in the middle of the dining room and a floor-to-ceiling live-shark tank in the bar, this 400-seat restaurant makes a big first impression. The menu isn't too shabby either, with creative, globally inspired seafood plates like seared Hawaiian ahi tuna nachos, crab and lobster potpie, and passion fruit-butter-grilled prawns. Other dishes include signature flatbreads, pasta, chicken and steak entrees, and miniature desserts like strawberry shortcake and apple cobbler.

I have a gift certificate for the closed Canoe Restaurant in Orland Park Ill....is there any way to get it redeemed?

Management and owners were way over their heads with this place from the get go. They were a million over budget. Original investors bailed. Management and primary owner couldn't pay the vendors their bills (when you can't pay for food, architects, supplies, you got a problem). They didn't care or listen to anyone and they started to get sued--big time. The place is in default and a company owns the land and that's it. The place has so many liens on it that no one wants it.
Pros: was a good idea
Cons: everything.
