Awesome salon!. Being in Chicago for only two months now, I picked this salon because of the good reviews on this site and despite the bad : ) and it was definitely the best choice. Mouluka, my hairdresser, did an excellent job, I think I got the nicest haircolor I ever had! Although I was totally undecided what I wanted to have, she coloured my hair in a colour that suited me perfectly. Plus, she was really nice and friendly. (And the coffee I got was pretty good :))

The salon itself is pretty nice, I really liked the style, because it is small and charming.

I'd definetly go again!

Worst experience ever. Let me just start off saying-I wish I've never gotten onto this site and got influenced by all the reviews and haven't gone to that place as a result.

I haven't gotten a haircut in almost 3 years-that's because I took great pride in my beautiful,below-the-waist long,dark,healthy,shiny hair.I wanted to pick the hair salon carefully not to regret anything they could do to it.I went to Evolution with a big picture in my hand,showing a close up of the exact style I wanted,to avoid any misunderstandings.I just wanted a little trim,between 1-2 inches(I made sure to explain that as clearly as possible to my stylist),a few layers in the front and some caramel+auburn low lights.And what did I get?The very acclaimed Mouluka turned me into a semi blonde and she totally chopped off my hair,leaving it at a shoulder length.Her only comment was"Oh,I cut a lot",like nothing happened,even though I specified how concerned I was about leaving it as long as possible.I don't dye my hair or torture it with any experiments,it was perfectly fine,there was no need whatsoever to cut it.Then instead of adding a few low lights,she practically dyed my hair orange blonde,Since I'm a dark brunette,it made me look really stupid,so she also dyed my eyebrows to match my hair.That didn't help the cause at all either,I still looked horrible.After styling my hair her"masterpiece"was finally ready-I looked like a wet dog with flat,orange-yellowish hair and auburn eyebrows.That whole experience cost me $180 and 2 days of crying.I had to go to another place to get it fixed.I had,for another $140,but even though I had it dyed back to dark brown and the bad cut got fixed,I couldn't get my hair glued back and 3 years of growing it went to a waste.

I don't know how on Earth Mouluka got all those positive reviews on this site,but when she was done with me I literally wanted to strangle her with my bare hands.

I never write reviews,but this experience was so horrible I just had to warn whoever I can.BEWARE!

Job Interview Saviors. Not normally a Reviewer here, but I just had to put in the good word for these ladies.

It was a cold wet day, right before an important job interview early the next morning that I had just scheduled that afternoon.

I was turned down at two other salons nearby because of how late it was, and this salon took me right in and made me look fabulous! I never was happier with looking truest to my natural self.

Most Importantly, I was a frequent bleacher, coloring my hair blue, purple, and green for the past 3 years. You probably know that it takes a lot of processing to get a dark brunette to a light blonde to make those colors look bight and attractive.

My styist corrected my dead bleached hair to my natural color, and deep conditioned it to bring it to life! Now I can grow it out once again, while looking Chic and professional at my new job!

I highly recommend them and will be back!

Fabulous!!!. The atmosphere is very approachable. I can relax in the intimate surroundings and the service is wonderful. The price is extremely affordable and the staff or very knowledgable. Can't wait until my next appointment. Wonderful salon!

Friendly professional staff. Great customer service, great prices, and knowledgable staff.. I love Evolution. Its location is convienient and their hours are good. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. They offer a multitude of services. I have been going their for about a year and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

WOW!!!!. Evolution Hair Salon is the best place to go to with your hair. They have such a relaxing atmosphere that it feels just like home.And I felt that that my stylist Moulouko was sincere with my needs and got them done the best she could have. The price is great too!. For anyone who is looking for a great hair do by faboulous people then this is the place for you.

Avoid Evolution Hair Salon. I looked on this website for a new hair salon because I was new to Chicago. The reviews said it was affordable and good cuts. I have my hair cut like Victoria Beckham's bob and just needed a trim. The hairdresser that cut it just needed to follow the style. Instead I ended up with a 70's pixie bob and she cut the back of my hair with a razor so far up that it was into my hairline, just because I have a colic back there that is sometimes hard to deal with. The wash was even bad, no massaging, nothing pretty much poor the shampoo on and rinse. Then when she was styling it I told her not to put product on my hair because it's very fine, so she went ahead and put a bunch of gel in the back of my hair(probably to cover up her mistakes in my hair so it would lay right.) When I got home I figured maybe I could deal with it and wear it behind my ears until it grew out a little because she also cut it way too short only to find out, it was completely uneven on the sides and I had specified that I had that haircut but I wanted both sides even. I had to go get another haircut later that evening it was so bad. I do not recommend this place at all, unless you have long hair and just need a trim and even then I still wouldn't go there !!

evolution salon....best salon ever...... This is a great salon, exellent and the prices are very good.

I recommend to anyone who wants extensions?

Mouloka did my extensions like one month ago?.and they are great?I love it?

She?s the best?so take my advice and try it?you will not regret it.

My Favorite Hair Cut!. I just got home from Evolution hair salon and absolutely LOVE my hair cut! Moulouka, my stylist, did a great job of advising me which length would look better on me and what styles would accent my facial lines better. i couldn't be more pleased with my hair cut, I got exactly what I was looking for. I'm definitely going back for high lights when I get my next pay check! This was a great experience and I will only use them for as long as I live in Chicago. They're not only great, but convenient too; right next to the Halstead/Belmont bus stop on the Belmont or Halstead Bus, and only two blocks from the red line at the Belmont stop. And the price couldn't have been better; $45 for a hair cut and style...If you're looking for a new hair cut and unsure where to go, check out Evolution, I promise you won't regret it!!

Evolution. If you want a quick and effcient waxing experience Evolution hair salon is the place to go.

The person who did my was Mouloka, when she did my waxing she soothed and distracted me

from the pain and before I knew if the waxing job was done. There service is exellent and the prices are

great. I reccomened to anyone who is reading this go to this salon, you'll be happy you did.
