“great location”
“dined on the rooftop and ate homemade pasta and the best dessert ever-plum tart.”
“They have excellent pizza and good drinks.”
“Best thing, it was Monday and it was half price for food and wine--this great meal was only $31!”
“The food, especially the pasta, was excellent and the service was great also but, if your into people watching like I am, the patio on Clark street is the perfect place to sit and watch the hoards descend on Wrigley.”
“The service was quite frankly, better than most elegant, high-brow restaurants.”
“my only complaint is that the drinks are a little pricey for this neighborhood.”
“after waiting fifteen minutes staring at other drinks and food arrive nearby, we broke our pact and went over to bar louie, where we got our drinks speedily and our excellent food tucked away.”View Less
Super Cheap Specials on Great Food!. The ENTIRE menu at Vines is 1/2 price on Mondays, and to be quite honest I eat lunch here almost every Monday. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ever ordered. My absolute faves are the buffalo chicken nachos, and the Southwest Chicken Salad. As for pizza, my vote goes to the italian beef & giardiniera. Everything is so cheap, bring a big group and order it all!! I know they have good specials the rest of the week too, like 1/2 price pizzas on Fridays, but the only bummer is no specials on game days. Even on a Monday at 11am when the cubs aren't playing until 7pm. Their outdoor is patio is as large as their restaurant and they service is fast & friendly. BUT I really do hate the plastic silverware they give you when you sit on the patio. Big TVs to watch your fave sports is a plus too!…
check out their specials. Great place for lunch any day of the week. Their entire menu is 1/2 price on Mondays. You get a ton of food for the money in a usually over priced neighborhood. Very friendly staff.
Get past the guy at the door and you'll be fine!. Food was OUTSTANDING! Prices are really fair. Service is mediocre. Four of us went the night after Thanksgiving and all ate...with some leftovers!...for under $100--OH, did I mention we had two bottles of wine, too?!?! That's CHEAP! The only down side was the dork at the door, a tall gay boy with a bad attitude. Get past him, tolerate some of the slowest service you've ever endured, and you'll eat GOOD for CHEAP! Enjoy!!! And say hi to the boy at the door for me! If he were good looking and had a nice attitude, I might consider switching teams.…
Wine was spectacular, and food not only mouth watering, but plentiful! Monday night football--half price drinks & half price FOOD!.
One of the best "sports bars" in Chicago because of its upscale vibe and beautiful enclosed sunroom. As a 40 something.....i appreciated the non-brawl like atmosphere, it was fun, upbeat but not
annoyingly rowdy. There are no bad seats, all are clear views to the high def screens --which are everywhere. We ordered two white wines, one German the other California and they were PHENOMENAL. The service was quite frankly, better than most elegant, high-brow restaurants. Food was a big surprise - we started with a hummus plate that came with piping hot pita bread, warm flavorful hummus and crisp veggies (it was huge), boyfriend had steak fettuccine and i had a crisp, savory pizza for one (6 pieces which were more than enough) that had garlic, basil, peperoni and Gorgonzola-ALL was to DIE for. Best thing, it was Monday and it was half price for food and wine--this great meal was only $31! There is nothing like this anywhere in the city. 4 ++ stars.

The hairiest chode I ever saw!. I walked into the bathroom at Vines one night and there was a guy perched up on the sink tweezing his chode hair! I could not believe it. But get this.. I went back to my table to sit down and the guy from the bathroom turns out to be my waiter!! I was speachless! When our food came I commented about his personal hygiene and he told me if I did not like it I could leave. On my way out I was then insulted by the restaurant manager for not being socially acceptable of other people's bathroom habits. Needless to say I will never be going back because I do not want my food fondled by Edward Chode Hands.…
