Spanish Language Center
by KatieRyan at Citysearch
Speaking Spanish has always been a goal of mine. After finally deciding to get started, I was thrilled with my experience at the Spanish Language Center. I was nervous getting started, but my professor was so patient, helpful, understanding, and not intimidating at all. Overall, I was very happy with how they taught us, and what I learned. I will be starting my next set of classes soon. I highly recommend the Spanish Language Center.
Chicago's Best Spanish School
by alisf01 at Citysearch
After a few years of struggling to learn Spanish with Rosetta Stone, classes at another school in Chicago, self-taught materials, and Spanish-speaking friends, I was thrilled to have discovered the Spanish Language Center. I am learning to speak Spanish much faster than I expected at my own pace through their private lesson offering. Juan Cortez is a fantastic instructor and not only makes learning Spanish very natural and straightforward, but also enjoyable. I am delighted to have found a program that fits in with my busy schedule that is also very effective and look forward to continuing as a student.

I have been very interested in learning spanish and have been taking a weekly class with the Spanish Language Center. It has been a wonderful experience! My teacher is very helpful and there when I needed her. I have been taking the one hour class during my lunch hour at work and have enjoyed every second!
I can't wait to continue with the Spanish Language Center.
Thanks!
- Pros: Several locations and easy to schedule
- Cons: None
HIGH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE SPANISH LANGUAGE CENTER
by JOANN LATHAM at Citysearch
I have been trying to learn Spanish for the past 3 years. Initially I used Rosetta Stone, and then took classes at another school. I tried to learn with a friend who speaks Spanish, but is not a teacher. Not much success! I have just finished my fifth private lesson with Jose Tuesta and I am very pleased with my progress in such a short time. I am speaking Spanish and learning the grammatical rules , at the same time, in a friendly conversational mode. My classes are at the downtown location which is very convenient. I intend to continue to take classes because I have now found the right school.
Recommended Spanish Classes

I am in my second session of Beginner classes. I feel I have learned a lot and learned it very quickly too. My teacher is very knowledgeable and has been a great teacher. She is a native speaker but also has teaching experience. The class sizes range from 1-10 people depending on how many people sign up. I started with another student and now I am by myself. Be prepared to devote a few hours to homework and vocab memorization every week. I took two years of Spanish in high school and I already feel like I have a better grasp on the language than I did then. I look forward to going to class every week because it is fun and I feel it is also highly useful. I would highly recommend Spanish Language Center.
- Pros: Parking is .25/hour in a lot, small class size, flexible scheduling
- Cons: It is expensive, but I feel it is worth it, and compared to other places, really not so bad.
