Editorial Review for Swim Cafe – by Fred Schlatter

In Short
Located across from the Ida Crown Natatorium, this lively cafe stands out on smells alone. Brightly painted booths and four-top tables occupy most of the spacious room. Rich, freshly baked pastries, like fig and walnut mini-muffins, sit enticingly in a glass display case. Savory panini, like the ham, Jarlsberg cheese, capers and avocado, are savory treats. The pungent Aegean salad, a mix of olives, mint, feta, greens, and hummus dressing, is a healthy lunchtime option.

I love to come here and relax while drinking a limade with mint in it...like a non-alcoholic mojito!! I'd prefer the alcohol but hey, a girls gotta work! I take my laptop, do some work or reading, and just relax. It's great. Food is good too.

The food at this coffeeshop is very good, with interesting combinations of tastes. I do think that the decor is a little forced with a barrage of ocean themes surrounding you, and very uncomfortable trendy furniture (no overstuffed couches here). However, the food and friendly staff made us want to come back. I personally recommend the hot chocolate and my boyfriend loved the bagel and lox (very reasonably priced too).

Pros: food

Cons: uncomfortable furniture
