bar service. the bar looks great & has a good menu, but patience is a virtue here. it took 10 minutes & 3 requests to get a beer in the comfy sofas. then it came in a broken glass. at least the server didn't charge. for being so convenient to theaters, the staff should be more attentive. this place could make that more profits.

Fun, Different Night Out!. Went here with some friends I was visiting, and we had a great time. I love the idea of the lounge, bar, bowling alley hybrid. The drinks were really good, at a totally reasonable price. I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

Have Fun Bowling Without Bowling. I have been there a couple times now and love it. I am not a big bowler, but I had fun even when I wasn't throwing a gutter ball. Most bowling alleys are boring when you go with a group because there is nothing to keep your attention as you wait, especially if you don't really like to bowl. This place has amazing tv screens and don't only play one sport . Overstimulated is a great way. Drinks are not too expensive either considering the location.

I like Lucky Strikes!. my boyfriend and I visited Chicago last month. After seeing a movie, we seen Lucky Strike. I remember one opened near our house in washington. i figured we'd check it out and see what it was all about. i actually liked it. we went at night. there were no kids runnig around, which was a plus for me!

we were able to bowl, eat and actally enjoy our food. I didn't drink, but my boyfriend had a few beers. he was happy to be able to watch the game on the large screen too!

the young ladies (at the door and our waitress) were attentive to us, making sure to ask us of we needed anything. my boyfriend dropped a his first beer on the floor, and someone rushed over to clean it up. they also gave him another beer on the house.

maybe its because i was a tourist, but i liked Lucky Strikes enough to try the one back home when I returned as well!

Lucky Strikes - Expectations Too High!!!. I like Lucky Strikes, and was really enthusiastic to have a birthday celebration there. I love the mature adults the venue attracts and especially accepts after a certain hour (I think 9pm). It's a good way to meet people. vibe, chill, and involve yourself in bowling, pool, the bar, or the restaurant. And the great part is that the movie theater is one floor above. However, they overcharge people. Just for holding a lane, renting shoes, and playing a game of bowling was at least $100 if not below. It was a nice thought...but my friends and I ended up walking out.

Sit Anywhere You Like, Except Where You Want!. My girlfriend and I recently went to this bar-restaurant when we had an hour to pass before our movie started at the adjoining AMC theater. We were well-dressed and in a good mood on a holiday at around 7:00 p.m.. The establishment's young, African-American hostess asked us whether we were there for dinner and we said no, as we were there for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. She then said, "Oh, you can sit in the bar." The bar is huge with both tables and booths that seat roughly eight people. In this entire establishment, there was only one other couple. We chose a table for four since there were no tables for two. The hostess then came back and said that we had to sit at the bar or in the other room if we were not going to eat dinner. We were a bit put-off by this as my date and I had no desire to "belly-up to the bar" while we had our appetizers and drinks. Therefore, the two of us walked to the other room but found that the bartender was all alone, in another gigantic room, watching TV (above the bar). There were no waitresses to serve the tables in that section. When we went back to tell the hostess this, she was extremely rude. We then told her that we would go somewhere else and that we had no intention of returning -- ever. Stay away from this place -- the staff is rude and it seems as though it's doing horribly!

Dress Code Ra**st. Simply put I used to love going to this place until they added a "dress code." I was there onetime, saw the dress code and walked up to the hostess who happened to be african american. I told her that I would not be staying and that the reason was because i found the dress code to be ra**st. She leaned in and said thatnk you very much, and tat she agreed with me. Here are a few of the things that they have listed: chain jewelry, no construction boots, not athletic attire. Please join me in boycotting the place and getting them to get rid of the dress code.

Expensive pricing for sub-par bowling. Lucky Strike. The name alone suggests that this is a bowling alley first and foremost. It was not named to be a bar, or a pool hall, but a bowling alley. As such, I would have expected the expensive price to reflect this in the quality of bowling. I was wrong.

First, the person at the counter could not understand when I said I had my own bowling shoes. He was also amused that I had my own bowling ball. Thats fine, a upscale bowling alley marketed at trendy folks, I can understand how its not common to see someone with his own gear.

The lanes were horrible. Dry, barely any oil on them, I could not get my ball to track where I wanted and usually get it to track. If you ever bowled at UIC, the you know what I am talking about. No oil tracks on the ball, and the slightest amount of hook causes the ball to over-react. Maybe I am spoiled with cheaper, more run down places that actually take good care of the lanes. Maybe I expected too much out of bowling prices that are easily 2 or 3 times as expensive. The least they could do is oil the lanes.

The bowling here is just an attraction. Don't expect to play a real game. However the food is decent. But... good food and good bowling don't mix. I think even trendy people who are half competant at bowling would appreciate a less upscale place that has a premium bowling experience. You goto a bowling alley to bowl, and you goto a restaurant to eat. Lucky strike is a restaurant/bar, not a bowling alley.

Rude and inconsistent!. If you are looking for a place to bowl, stay away from Lucky Strike! Their staff is rude and unpleasant to deal with. They are also very inconsistent with their policies. This is one customer who will not be returning.
