“Overall, this place was horrible; everything from parking, the service, to the drinks, the crowd, and the TV's.”
“The wait staff is very friendly and always ready with another round of beers and quick to get the food to the table.”
“The food is pretty good and the drink prices aren't too.”
“It is a bit pricey for a sports bar, but the burger patties are fresh made daily and only a few frozen-fried items on the menu.”
“went back the other night cuz their food menu looked real good, and a game was on- this place kicks butt for watching the Bulls!”
“Every time we get the worst service.”
“Also, servings are huge.”
“They've made huge strides with the quality of service since it was Player's, but somebody needs to take the five minutes to train the bar staff on televisions.”
Out of Business?. I live near this place and I have tried to like it but I just cannot bring my self to see anything of value. The food is ridiculously expensive and sucks. People that work there I use the word work there lightly dont smile. They have to be going out of business since I have never seen anyone in the bar on a Friday or Saturday night. I hope that the new place has better management.
I guess I'm the only one...?. Personally I love this place. The wait staff is very friendly and always ready with another round of beers and quick to get the food to the table. Plenty of screens so you can see just about any game they are showing. The food is very good, if a bit pricey and management is very nice and accomodating. They recently reserved their back room for myself and about 25 friends to watch Hopkins v. Taylor II and gave us our own bartender...no room rental fee or anything. Parking in the area is also very good. Overall, I think this is a great place!
Sports Bar?. What a great space for a sports bar too bad this place has noting to offer sports fans. The beer is expensive the food is terrible and the service well what service? Know one would wait on us. The food is so bad I could not eat it the and the place was empty good luck players.
Players???. The food is so bad I could not eat it the servers ignored me and the place was empty good luck players
What kind of sports bar. I looked forward to this place opening in my neighborhood. And I am very disappointed with the food and the atmosphere. The bartender ignored me to talk to her model girlfriends and euro trash boyfriends. The menu is very odd and food took over 45 minutes to arrive cold! I dont feel welcome at this place.
Owners Discretion. The owners have no interest in their customers. We have been coming to Players since they first opened and last night we were told no reservations for the sox game. When showed up at 5:30 and they made my party wait all night for a table when 4 booths were empty reserved the owners friends. Those tables showed up well after the game started. That suggests to me that the owners and their friends have no interest in customers that are true sports fans. Where I am from the customer is always first. I guess that is not the case at Players Bar and grill.
River West bar pulls out the stops in sports viewing..
In Short
With a pitched ceiling, exposed beams and team pennants ringing the space, the bar resembles a tricked out high school gym and boasts a multiplex-size center screen and 14 monitors, all tuned to sports. Diners can choose a raised booth on the perimeter, while die-hard fans might opt for the bar or a front-row four top. Draft choices include domestics plus Guinness and Konig Ludwig Weiss, and Zywiec and Okocim in bottles.
Don't waste your time.
So they changed their name from Players to Mahoney's. Still didn't change the staff. 0 stars if I could.

Poor service, I could have gone to the store and bought my beer before I got even a look from the bartender. I guess her text-messages were more important. I met the manager on a seperate ocaision and he said he was staffing w/ people that had worked for him before. Honestly they all must have been fired for lack of work ethic if this was the best he could put together. Go anywhere instead.
