Italian. Great Italian restaurant also called Basil Leaf Cafe. I've been a regular costumer for a long time and this review is overdue. They have an amazing salad with berries. the creamy tomato basil soup is amazing and I have too many favorite pasta dishes to list. you won't be disappointed!
Would NOT recommend. I would not eat here again. I have tried to eat here twice. The first time I went we waited so long at our table for someone to greet us that we eventually left. The second time we went, the food was overcooked, the staff was very slow and the management was very rude. I have never had such a bad experience in a Chicago restaurant. Not surprisingly, after our experience, I have heard other people saying the same thing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE.
Italian.
Excellent choices of Italian entrees. Great service, Very friendly, Small but appropriately chosen wine list.
We enjoyed our time.
Gourmet grocery store and eatery appeals to discriminating global tastes..
In Short
The owners of Basil Leaf Cafe have ventured into this grab and go concept just across from their Italian eatery in Lincoln Park. Artisan breads, antipasti, Belgian brews and various cheeses are among the gourmet bites offered to hungry foodies. Customers who want to dine in can select from deli sandwiches and individual pizzas.
