The Scene – The recessed entrance to this theater-district restaurant is marked by luminous blue signage, with a foyer clad in faux zebra hide. The first-floor bar area is flanked by booths upholstered in vinyl and a soaring opening revealing dual cat-walks. Linen-clad tables dot the downstairs dining room, and the upstairs dining rooms features cushy leopard print chairs, turquoise tables, unfinished wood, Persian rugs add other eclectic touches. – – The Food – Boka's head chef handles the kitchen, favoring updated classic American flavors. Editor's Tips

What to Drink:
A specialty cocktail list features old favorites like a potent cosmo made with Orange Grey Goose, and refreshing non-martini options like the Bellini---equal parts Prosseco and peach puree.
When to Go:
Avoid weekend nights for dinner when the large space fills with enthusiastic bar patrons.
Where to Sit:
Either cat walk offers terrific bird's-eye people-watching. Space, however, is limited, and coveted when busy.

Don't go unless it's for the pizza or discounted wine Weds

by Thaicharm7 at Citysearch

A girl friend and I wanted to grab some dinner and drinks somewhere with a happy hour scene yet that still had quality food. So we both decided to try Landmark. The service was impeccable, but the food (other than the pizza) was very disappointing. We ordered a bottle of cabernet sauvignon, which I thought wasn't that great, it had a lingering bitter aftertaste. We ordered the mushroom pizza with truffle oil. It was a perfect thin crust, crisp, flavorful, with just the right amount of truffle oil. I ordered the Kobe beef sliders with foie gras & shoestring potatoes with moroccan ketchup as my entree and she ordered the braised beef dish with barley. The buns on my sliders were cold, and the meat was barely warm. The meat was skimpy, it was mostly bread, and I could barely see or taste any foie gras. The shoestring fries came alongside little squiggles of ketchup on the plate. The fries were all cold and very unappetizing. My friend's braised beef was tender, but bland. We had to ask for salt and more ketchup. They beef came accompanied with some type of bitter green stuffed phyllo dough rings. Sadly, my friend enjoyed the barley the most. The downstairs bar was empty when we came in at 8pm, but by 10pm, there were people downstairs, and the music was a great mix of hip hop and R&B. The music was great, the service was great, the food sadly, was not up to par. I'd maybe consider going back for pizza and wine, but that's about it.

  • Pros: impeccable service, pizza, good music in the lounge area
  • Cons: the rest of the food

Fun

by NatalieL at Citysearch

I went to a friend of a friends birthday party here, it was fun. We payed $20 for open bar for 2 hours. They had a private room with a private bar, so the drinks cam fast. The room that we were in was beautiful. I would recommend it for drinks, I haven't tried the food.
