Pizza, small plates, and affordable glasses and bottles of wine—it's a great place to let loose and explore the menu.

Chef John Coletta makes goat's milk ricotta every morning, and I can't think of a better place to show it off then on his basil and sundried tomato wood-oven pizza.

The Best!. My husband and I agree, this is the best Italian food that we have ever had. We actually live in Nashville, TN but love to go to Chicago for fun. Quartino's atmosphere and friendly staff make the dining experience wonderful. The pasta is super fresh and I believe it's because they actually make it there in the restaurant. Everything is delicious. I have never been to Italy but I imagine this is what the food would be like and tast like. It's real Italian and real good! I definitely recommend it!!

For Tourists. This is on the tourist strip and is full of tourists. It is so loud. The food was average at best. It simply was not a comfortable experience.

Not for groups!. This is not a place to go if you have a large group. We had a reservation for 15 at 6:00 PM. We arrived and waited an hour past our reservation time to be seated. (It was a Wednesday night.) They told us everyone in our party had to be present, and would not seat us, despite having a large enough table open. It would have been easy to take a smaller table away if everyone did not show up (and they could have sold quite a bit of food and alcohol to the table in that time). The food at Quartino is good, but stay away if you're more than 4 people.

Best Italian in a While. My mom and I ate there together, and we both agreed that it was an awesome restaurant. We sat at the bar first and enjoyed a couple drinks. The bartender was awesome. There was a dripping ceiling, which was kind of annoying, but the bartender tried to clean it as well as he could.

The waitress was okay. She wasn't overly nice, but that's maybe preferred. We made our own antipasto tray, which was fun and tasted good. My mom ordered a shrimp and fettucine dish, which came out before my pasta. That was a little annoying. I guess the idea is to share, but I don't like shrimp. So I had to wait for my food. When my pasta arrived, it was very good. Their marinara sauce is excellent.

I would recommend this place to anyone. It has some really good Italian food, good wine list, and fair prices.

Excellent Italian Food !!!. This is a great Italian resturant. I went there with my sister in the summer before we saw Wicked. We sat on the patio. The prices were very reasonable and the wine was so good!!! You can create your own antipasto tray which was nice. I will definately be back and I would recommend this place to friends. I've eaten at alot of Italian resturants and this one is at the top. Good job to the owner and the staff.

Great comfy friend dinner!!. This is a GREAT place to go with friends! Excellent food, wait staff is usually good, prices are fair! .. Be prepared that they bring food out AS IT IS READY, not together with the rest of your table. So this wouldn't necessarily be a good place to come for business, may create awkwardness. LOVE the pizza in the bar. Excellent cheese/meat appetizers - (prosciutto / parmesan is my fave!). Pasta dinners are good. This restaurant is VERY NOISY, so maybe not a great first/second date local. Overall, this is one of my fave places to go!

great selection of food and wine, good prices, good quality!. I've been there a number of times, and each time has been worthwhile. One time the servers passed out free appetizers, we got 3 free! Everything I've had there has been above average. I love the white bean with garlic spead ( $4.00) the eggplant parmasean is quite good. The escarole and beans were tasty, the calamari was cooked correctly although a little bland. The food prices are very reasonable, many items $4.-$5. range. They have a nice selction of pizzas. There are wines served by the 1/4, 1/2, and full liter with plenty of selection. They have 1/2 price wines to go. My friend bought a bottle of wine to go and they gave him a free 1/4 liter of wine to taste! I would not go there expecting something free, but don't be surprised.

Unexpected.... My husband and I stopped by for lunch a little before 11 am on a Thursday but the posted hours were 11:30 am. We thought we were out of luck because we were on a tight timeline for the airport but the chef was in the entryway and insisted that we take a seat. They even sat us outside which attracted more folks and pretty soon, they were hopping way before their scheduled opening. It was nice to be treated like customers should be treated...

The food was great. I'm a big fan of the antipasta platter to start so that I can sample the cured meats and olives. I love the tapas style so I can taste everything. And you can't beat it for the price. I'll definitely be back!

Probably the best deal in chicago. My girlfriend first suggested we eat here and my expectations were blown away. The food is very fresh and prepared to perfection. Every time we eat at Quartino we try to order new dishes but its so hard because you always want what you had last time! One cool thing is that they cure their own meats which are excellent. The service is usually good, but occasionally we get orders mixed up or a server we wished would stop talking. If I was paying 5 star prices, this would be an issue, but since we can get away with a $30 bill for 2 people, I'm not complaining. I think by far, Quartino is the best value in the city (at least for their lunch menu).

Nothing to write home about. Service was great, but the food was just average. Ordering wine by the liter is a fun concept, but the quality of the wine wasn't anything to write home about. The pizza was bland; risotto undercooked; and several other pasta dishes seemed lacking. The fried polenta was tasty, so was the gnocchi. Everything else was just ok.
