This is not a huge store with every dress ever made - so if you're looking for a huge selection, this isn't the place for you. If, however, you have a bit of an idea of what you're looking for, and appreciate a calm, clean, personalized environment - White Chicago is for you. The consultants will help as much or as little as you like. You can try on any dress you may please, and cameras are welcomed! Treat yourself to anthing but the typical - and enjoy White Chicago!

Perfect!

What I can only imagine is the best bridal boutique in Chicago, ah, White Chicago. From the moment we entered the subterranean, clean modern showroom we were completely delighted. All glass and white lacquer, and complete with a place for your shoes and a selection of fresh white socks. My entourage and I called ahead and asked if we could celebrate with some bubbly. Not only was the woman on the phone courteous, but she invited us to come early and enjoy one of their private lounges while we toast. We popped the cork and toasted and began dress shopping the way it was meant to be. While sitting on the white modern sofa, in the all white room, I handed out small cards to each of my best friends asking them to be my bridesmaids, "check yes or no." It was so adorable. I have a picture of each carefully checking yes. Then myself and a few of the ladies were invited back to their gallery to take a look at their selection of new samples, and once wed dresses. The selection was fresh and designer, and most of all gorgeous. Even my ring left happier after a fresh cleaning!

I tried on each dress and walked the catwalk before the ladies, and it was super fun. The saleswoman even suggested I show off the ones I didn't love, so that my friends could at least see them. She understood that it was all about the experience, not just the dress. Each gown had things to love and like. But in the end, it was the last one that won my heart. I had actually seen it on the bride before me as she pranced down the catwalk in it. I can't imagine what she thought when we all pointed and screamed, that's the dress! Thank you White Chicago for such an amazing, and perfect experience!

Terrible customer service

On the positive side, the place looks chic. (If you like IKEA style)

That's about all the positiveness I can share.

First, getting an appointment was extremely hard. They don't answer the phone very often.

I arrived for my appointment with two friends. The first thing they made us all do was wash our hands. Rather than asking us to wash our hands, it sounded like an army order. OK, that should prevent stains on dresses. I do not know why the dress I ended up liking most still had plenty of stains on it.

Next we were taken to the back of the store to pick the dresses we liked. Kyra, my assistant, left my friends & I alone in the room full of dresses and did not help us pick anything.

OK, off to the fitting room. Kyra asked me a couple of questions about my engagement and clearly was not at all interested in hearing the answers. After a couple of dresses that I liked I asked Kyra if she can recommend me any other dresses to try on, now that she should have had an idea of what I like. The answer was a clear no. Can't recommend.

I asked her about alterations for a specific dress, she had no idea what the specific changes I asked about would have cost. Typical alterations are at $500, that's all she offered.

Towards the end of that hour we had with her my friends went to the back room to try to find some more dresses for me (since Kyra could not assist in this). At this point Kyra told me my time is up and I could maybe try on one more dress and that's it.

Overall, my experience at white chicago made me feel stressed and unhappy rather than excited about my wedding. Maybe other assistants there are different, but I would strongly advice you to avoid Kyra if you can. Some of their dresses looked good, but having a borderline rude assistant "helping" you takes the beauty out of any dress.

Go green - recycle your wedding dress and get some cash in the process!

I recently consigned my wedding gown at White Chicago. Ursula, one of the owners, was wonderful to work with. She was so personable and professional, explaining the process clearly and answering all of my questions. The shop itself is beautiful and immaculate, with excellent care given to all their gowns. Now, one month later, they already sold my wedding dress! My check is on the way, my closet space has increased, and another bride gets to enjoy the gown.

Bravo White Chicago!

White Chicago is an outstanding bridal boutique. I left the store this evening with a beautiful dress I absolutely adore! I really appreciate the professionalism, kindness, and support the sales consultants and owners provided me with. My whole experience here was excellent:) Thanks for making me a very happy bride with a gorgeous dress.

• Pros: Very clean environment. Unlike many other bridal boutiques, the gowns are handled with care and are in excellent condition.
