In Short – This jazz and blues institution gets a new home in Hyde Park's Harper Court mall in a much larger space than the original, which was forced to close in 2003 due to code violations. The new location keeps the spirit of the Bronzeville spot, featuring a photo of the legendary moment when Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones shared the stage, and showcasing live music every day for a mix of university and neighborhood locals.

Just to set the record straight, the editorial review is a bit misleading:

The great famous photo of the Muddy Waters Band jamming with the Rolling Stones was actually taken at Richard Harding's club,"The Quiet Knight", not 'The Checkerboard". The Quiet Knight, by this time, had moved from its original and long-time "Old Town" home on North Wells Street to its last , and relatively abrupt, stay on West Belmont Avenue.
