Chicago's worst manager. The decor is great, but the management leaves a lot to be desired. I am surprised this place is still in business. There was nothing that stood out as good about the music, drinks, or the way they treat guests.

Its like that person that takes pictures with strangers and puts them on Facebook to act like they have friends. The JBar is trying hard to be something that it is not. It seems everyone else knew but me, because I made the mistake of booking my birthday at this location. The manager acted liked the place was only for people with reservsations, just to get inside to see a sparse crowd. Then, try to force you to buy additional bottles for more people to come in. When did bottle service become a requirement for entering a bar. Did I mention the place was not close to being full...at all.

Don't waste your time.

Arrogant and Trashy. I had heard good things about J Bar but was very disappointed from the minute I walked in. The people were old and weird and the staff was arrogant. After going to the bar to order a drink the bartender mocked one of my guy friends for the drink he ordered. While standing trying to enjoy the bad drink we payed to much for we were surrounded by weird people getting a little too comfortable on the couches. For a place that looks trendy and bartenders who act like it is a very exclusive club the people did not match the attitude. There are much better places to go for a good drink with good service in chicago, I do not recommend wasting your time or your money.

Delicious Signature Drinks!!. Alright, so I love to try new drinks because the common vodka variation gets old and my liver gets bored. Jbar has over 10 specialty drinks that each look soo delicious. While i cannot try them all in one night bc then i would be a drunk, I tried 3 different ones and each has such a unique flavor! Their signature drink, The James, so sweet and yummy....and the raspberry accents were perfect to satisfy my hunger. Even better though is that I now know that they have appetizers for half off on Wednesdays. (probably going to have to check that out bc i hear they set up a big screen for Wii...original idea, i like it :) ) And they can serve the menu from next door until a certain time (Primehouse, YUM!)

All in all though, its a small place, which if your looking for a massive commercial Excalibur or Enclave experience, its not here, but the intimacy and atmosphere is really sultry, and the crowd is the same...I will definitely be coming back with co-workers during the week (they open earlier than most nightclub/lounges, its very posh for happyhour-ish cocktails!!) and CERTAINLY to hear my favorite Mister DJ Rock City on Saturdays :)

Great Friday Nights!. Are you sure we were at the same bar? After reading that last review i have to disagree. My girlfriends and i went there last Friday and had an amazing night! There was no cover and we ordered a bottle of PINK vodka which was only $150. We danced all night, the music was great! I could have used a little bit more room to dance, it did get a little crowed. Other than that i loved it. And not only is the bar chic so is the crowd. I will be making my way back there very soon!

BEWARE THEIR FRIDAY NIGHTS!. Id think twice before reserving a table at this place on fridays. they set their bottle prices higher that nite in hopes to scam over their new found customers. I think this is highly unprofessional and u can find a better place in the city for the price they charge. the girls are just ok and for $300 a bottle, the eye candy better be better than that! service was slow and the music was awful. PASS!!

Great Service - Great Music - Great Bar!!. Took my friends here for a party, and we had the best time. The manager was fantastic and hooked us up with a great table. The waitress was wonderful - our glasses were never empty! And the music was hot - we danced all night! This bar has a great atmosphere, and combined with the great service - this is one of my favorite bars in Chicago!!! Definitely don't miss it!

Live music (DJ), intimate appeal, great service!. I went to Jbar last Wednesday and what a great surprise! It had a very relaxed vibe, the music was great (Live DJ) and the crowd was diverse. The walls are all mirrors and the bar is lit by candles, very intamate appeal. People who go there look great, are very personable and def have a good time dancing. The cocktailer recommended the Pear-a dise martini and it was phenomenal..

No cover, great time!

Will be back next Wednesday!!!

BEST FRIDAY NIGHTS EVER!!!!. I went to Jbar with a group of friends on a Friday night after hearing the buzz around town about this place. First we approached with no cover to get in, which was awesome since we had more money to drink now. Immediatley greeted by the manager who made us feel very welcome and introduced us to a Mina, a cocktail server, who took our drink order. Mina was nice enough to give us an open table in her station until some ballers decided to buy the table. Even though I'm not so much into the Euro house music the DJ was playing when we got there, he switched it up with an amazing mix of hip hop, club remixes of some popular top 40 songs and back to house. The music was on fire, people were dancing all over the place, the vibe and energy ran through your body. Awesome start to a very long weekend. Whatever it is those guys responsible for making Jbar happen on a nightly basis, continue to do that. We will be back for sure.

Best Sunday Night!. Jbar Sunday nights are where it's at. DJ is spinning the house beats and the most beautiful cocktail servers ever. Awesome ambience, great drink specials (I think vodka was like $5 a drink). Cannot go wrong with this place on this night. Crowd was fun, very different from the other nights I've been, but hip, trendy and energetic. If you're out and about on a Sunday night don't overlook Jbar.

hot waitresses, great music,. So I wrote a LONG review and right when I went to send it, my computer bombed. So here are the basics of it. Hot waitresses: Thick latina type, forighn blone, typical hot blonde and hot brazilian with BIG eyes. The service here was AMAZING. I had the brazilian type. She said her name is "J", but i don't believe her. She gave me great attentiveess and smiled the whole time. All of the waitresses work together as a team and help eachother get throuigh the crowd of drunkeness. What a display of team work! "J" also got us to order another bottle when we had only planned on ordering 1 in the first place. When I asked "J" where a good MOday spot hangout is, she not only recommended a place to go, but she got our names on the list so we souldnt have to pay a cover..I thought she was joking, but when I went there, sure enough my name was there! oh and the blonde forign chick came over and said hi which is awesome, bc we wern't even her table. The only thing that need altering is the coat check chicks attitude..She acts like she's either sleeping with the boss or she owns the place. Oh and there's NO COVER!!!, just mandatory coat check... I'd rather pay a cover thann deal with that again.
