Great Atmospher + Great Food Presentation = Amazing overall Experience.
This place was perfect for my dining experience. My dinner party of three was a great size to ensure we had the chance to try a lot of food and the bill will not make us salty.
people's skirt steak...heavenly
calamar frito...very tasty. I enjoy when there are more of the tentacles than the rings. But the taste more than made up for that minor issue.
Pollo Diablo. With a name that cool, I was saddened that it appeared so late on the table. I will have to order the diablo again as I will reserve judgment on such a cool name.
queso de cabra- O my GOD AMAZING. The bread was fresh, the cheese was to die for. WOW!!!!!!
lubina...it was nice but there may be other items that may be better. I'm just saying
gambas...So much fun to say!! if you order this item, you should only call the shrimps gambas. It's fun..trust me.
O and ordering a pitcher of sangria...good for everyone
Horrible Spanish Food.
This is, by far, the worst Spanish food that I have ever had the misfortune to eat. The food was not fresh and left much to be desired. The paella was watery and had a layer of liquid that was not fully absorbed by the rice. I have lived in Spain, eaten at Spanish restaurants in the U.S. and this was the WORST paella that I have ever tasted. It had cod and it was clear that they had merely placed the cod on top of the dish and that it had not even been cooked with the paella. If you are stuck in Wicker Park, and want Spanish cuisine, do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with this restaurant. Ole Ole in Andersonville has phenomenal Spanish cuisine.
I do not recommend that any people with a penchant for Spanish cuisine to dine at People Lounge.
Average Tapas at People. I have been to several Tapas restaurants before and found People Lounge was average. I did think that the goat cheese peppers were good but not great. I would much rather go somewhere like Iberico or Babareeba...more for your money and tastebuds. Wait staff was exceptional and very friendly. One of the food runners was a little surly but other than that, all staff was wonderful and accomodating.
Cool food , Cool Place..
We were seated right away regardless on how super pack this place was on a Saturday night. Great place to people watch and listen to a DJ spin their magic . They had a very good variety of Tapas to choose from . We began with the cheese plate and olives stuffed with garlic , very tasty . For dinner we had the shirt steak, chicken , mussels and scallop tapas . All the dishes were very flavorful and plenty for two people to share .
For dessert we had the chocolate cake and the flan . The chocolate cake was a bit dry but the flan was Delicious. Through out the meal we tried a couple different specialty martinis they had to offer . Our favorite was the Peoples French Martini which has champagne in it . They also have white or red Sangria . Very refreshing . This is a great place for a fun date or a night out with friends .
Loved the food, great bar scene too!.
Went to People on a weekend night with some friends. The place was packed so be sure to make reservations for weekends! The goat cheese stuffed red peppers are not on the menu but our server recommended them as a special. That was the best food I ever had in a Spanish tapas restaurant! The skirtsteak and spicy potatoes were delicious as well. One of my friends who is vegetarien was happy with the non meat choices also.
DJs started spinning around 9:30 and the lights got dimmer. We moved to the bar and enjoyed a couple pitchers of sangria. Had a great time overall, will be back to try more dishes.
Room to improve. The food was presented well and was flavorful. Granted it is a tapas-style restaurant, but the portions were smallish by those standards. The atmosphere was relaxed. The service gets mixed reviews. For the most part, the servers were moderately attentive, but they did make a mistake and omit part of my order, however, the manager immediately apologized and comped our dessert. In addition a band was playing but at a high volume, the manager asked if it was too loud and accomidated our request to turn it down. Overall, I would return if the portions were better. Otherwise, its a nice place to check out.
Great for after-work gatherings.... A few of my friends and I went there during a weekday after work and the overall experience was great. People got thumbs up from all of us. Chicken skewers and the white wine sangria were really good! It was just what we were looking for, the perfect blend of good food and good music on a weekday. Will go back again.
Great Tapas, Great Drinks, Great Ambiance!!. I've eaten at a lot of tapas restaurants in the city, and People is by far the best! The ambiance is great! Romantic on the inside, great for people watching at the outdoor tables. The Effes beer (Turkish) is amazing. Would definitely return!
The place rocks. Cool place dude. The food is excellent. The atmosphere even better. You think you are in Europe, instead of the boring boring Midwest. Gotta have more of these places. I wonder if they have franchises.
Absolutly Delicious!. Everything about our night was great! We had a girls night out and I am not that crazy about tapas but it was the best tapas I have EVER had! Everything we tried was just amazing and the server was really nice and helpful in recommending dishes to try. The bread and queso dip was just amazing! I would go back in a heartbeat, no question. Good drink selection too and very reasonably priced.
